Our go to for a martial arts facility management system

Vantagens:

displays all the information i need with easy to use navigation and simplified interface.

Desvantagens:

certain settings are hard to find. It would be nice to have them all in one tab called "settings" with tabs within that to separate payments, memberships etc.

Simplified our lives SO much!

Vantagens:

We were looking for a software to manage our small personal training gym that supported the features we needed without the bloat of larger softwares. We also wanted to more easily see our sales, scheduled payments, missed payments, and attendance at a glance. We also LOVE being able to integrate emails and texts within gymdesk so all communication is visible to all staff. The tasks and automations are also crucial for helping us stay organized.

Desvantagens:

So far nothing has been a dealbreaker at all! A few features we wish could be implemented (better recurring appointments, slightly more easy to view calendar, etc) but nothing that overshadows the simplicity and ease of use.

TERRIBLE customer service and support--simply terrible.

Comentários: Terrible. I am cancelling and going with the company's competitor. At least they provide a customer service phone number.

It is an OKAY membership management platform.

Desvantagens:

Gymdesk's customer service and support is TERRIBLE. For one, they do not provide a phone number at ALL. After several emails asking for a callback, someone responded back that they do NOT do CALLBACKS but that they would SCHEDULE a customer service call. Really? Okay, yes, let's do that. What a pain. Especially because I am calling about the 3 THREE charges a month that my $75 a month service is supposed to cost.

Gymdesk nailed it

Comentários: Excellent. I would highly recommend any gym owner give gymdesk a shot. Even if it wasn't for you (and I'd be surprised if it wasn't), you lose nothing by trying.

Vantagens:

Very easy to use Lots of built in features No upsell No sales team/sales pitches Excellent customer service. You email, they get back to you quickly. Simple as that. Tons of online content: youtube videos, articles, podcasts, etc.

Desvantagens:

It does not pair super well with Square. There are some limitations to how you can use the physical POS with it. I hear stripe is the better option in this case.

Awesome software

Comentários: Product is great and customer service is great. Any time we have had a problem, which has been very few times, they have responded and resolved quickly

So easy to use I was able to set it up myself and learn quickly.

Vantagens:

Managing capacities per class is crucial. I want to places can do auto billing but to be able to reserve the amount of spots per class and be able to see how many are taken incentivize users to book their class is ahead of time. One thing I would like to see them implement is allowing me too cut off the window. 15 minutes out. They allow intervals of hours or days, I would like to see them add minutes so that I can close the window. 15 minutes before class starts so that people can’t register or cancel in that timeframe.

Desvantagens:

Would like to be able to cancel sign in/cancellation 15 minutes out

Great product

Comentários: Fantastic really. We really jumped feet first when deciding to take over a gym with very little prior experience with back-end knowledge and this program really made it so much easier.

Vantagens:

We love how Gymdesk makes life so much easier for our business. The overall look of the program is great and the functionality of it has exceeded our expectations. Customer service has been excellent to work with any time we run into a snag.

Desvantagens:

We would like to be able to schedule members in "spots" in class (like movie theater or plane seating) to incentivize early booking for classes. It would help us be better prepared and discourage last minute booking.

Nothing but amazing!

Vantagens:

The beautiful UI and overall feel of the software got us hooked! This software is on par if not better than most big named software out there that we have tried at a fraction of the price! Although there are a ton of amazing features, nothing comes close to how the customer service makes you feel when you join. Customer service is hands down the best thing about this software. If we have an issue they personally emails us back almost instantly to get it resolved! They are there anytime of day to assist and make sure the software is running at its full potential. The best of all is that they listens to feedback and actually implements them! WHAT? I've asked my recent software many times for what I thought were simple requests, and have always gotten a "we will see what we can do" response. The software is constantly being updated and cared for! Martial Arts on Rails has been one of the greatest decisions we have ever made for our school/business. There are some filters I could use with Mindbody when running reports or creating back end changes which make things easier.However I have only thought this once or twice in my year of using their software and it does not impact my operations.

Excellent software to manage a martial arts school

Comentários: I don't have to manually keep tabs on when students need to pay. It's much easier to have the system remind them rather than me. I like that fact that I can run the website, billing, attendance, and marketing all in one system!

Vantagens:

The system is very straightforward and not difficult to learn. The support is fantastic. Any questions I had were addressed in a very timely manner. The price is right for a small martial arts school to be able to save time managing the business side of running a school.

Desvantagens:

Overall, the software is great but some a couple more customizations would be nice. Being able to customize the dashboard to display what is most important to the administrator. More customization on the website. Example, being able to change the link "Book" on the schedule to something else like "Free Trial Class". I use the booking function for leads rather than students. The check in screen can also be a little easier. Possibly have student names listed that are able to check in to next session available so they can just click on it.

Best Martial Arts Specific Software We've Used, Exceptional Customer Service

Comentários: The customer service with MAonRails has been fantastic. Eran goes out of his way to help and answers quickly. They were also willing to work with us on price which for a small school is greatly appreciated.

Vantagens:

The interface is clean, easy to navigate for students and administrator. Easy to customize and get up and running quickly. Like the family account feature, belt ranks are easy to create, add, and modify. Customer Service is fantastic, quick answers and always willing to help.

Desvantagens:

That each document cannot have a customizable email saved. A bit difficult to navigate belt ranks when different classes can count towards time in grade. Also, the gym schedule is not great. Would like to see a month at a time.

Martial Arts on Rails Review

Comentários: We were looking for a product to manage a small wrestling club and strength training business. We do not have a full-time manager and most of the products were overly complicated. Martial Arts on Rails has turned out to be the perfect solution.

Vantagens:

The software is extremely easy to set-up and use, yet it has sufficient flexibility to manage our club in the way we want to operate. Interface is excellent and intuitive. The ability to create a website and easily integrate with a payment gateway was also excellent. Finally, customer support is to notch.

Desvantagens:

At first I was concerned that it did not have a corresponding App but the website works great on a cell phone and this has not been an issue. The product team continues to add features and improve functionality. No concerns.

Excellent software to keep dojo running smoothly

Easy to keep track of visitors/potential new members. Great dashboard overview to see quickly any overdue fees and information

Desvantagens:

We run a lot of kids classes where a day(s) needs to be selected for them to enrol. Currently we need to create a lot of day combinations to accommodate this

So far there isn't anything I don't like! I haven't been using that long- but its been a breeze!

Gymdesk Software for BJJ Gyms

Comentários: I really dont understand how I get so much spam (up to 20/day). If there could be a block to enable them not to resend emails. I would like it a whole lot more.

Vantagens:

It like that it comes with its own webpage that can later be integrated with your own. It suits my gym perfectly accounting for all of my needs. I would recommend this for anyone setting up a BJJ Academy. It also has an easy to view, "how to" that helped me out. My emails initially to the Gymdesk Team, were answered quite quickly and after a while of using it, it became so much easier.

Desvantagens:

Being in Australia, it was annoying that only Square can be used for the POS. But Square isnt too bad with its low fees.

Great martial arts management software

Vantagens:

Great membership management, auto billing which is important, attendance tracking, sales & marketing Are great. The only email and text function is a game changer too! You have to pay a little extra but it’s a huge life saver to send messages out quickly to all members or to certain members.

Desvantagens:

I’d like to see this software give the member the ability to track their progress according to the program, ranks and promotion requirements. For example, when I set certain skills for a particular rank, the student cannot see what those skills are on their one member portal. They can see what rank they are, but not the skills associated with the rank.

Comentários: A great app with all the right features, very helpful and easy to setup, customer service is top notch.

Not many negatives I have towards this platform but wish it had an app in the playstore and the gym sheduling can be a little confusing.

Vantagens:

Having used a couple products prior, this one works best for our schools, because of the size, the affordability and features. We use to have to carry hard copies of paperwork/release now we can pull it at any location, even at tournaments sites if needed.

Desvantagens:

The inability to just read or replay to messages seems to be a bit problematic as I get email notifiations, but, if I don't read the email or on the message screen, those messages may go unanswered for some time.

Excellent Gym Management Portal

Comentários: My overall experience has been positive. [SENSITIVE CONTENT] is very responsive to email questions. The software system meets my needs and is cost effective. I still have more to learn about it’s functionality but things are going well.

Ease of accessibility to manage many aspects of the club I operate

Desvantagens:

The amount of times I’ve had to reach out for assistance. The FAQs are helpful but not as clear as they could be

Comentários: Fantastic- great product, even better customer service- have sent multiple questions via email and have always received detailed and fast replies.

Vantagens:

Clean, intuitive UI that is very easy to use and maintain our memberships. great product, even better customer service.

Desvantagens:

when i started using this software, there was no integration with GoCardless- however since then, Gymdesk has implemented this! They were great at communicating the update to us.
