Finally a software deployment tool that just works

Comentários: We had a very successful POC which showed how much time we would be saving using their platform.
Automox can automatically deploy patches endpoints need for OS or third-party applications. I'm also very excited about the features they will be adding to their platform.

Vantagens:

I love how responsive the product is for being agent-based. Multi-platform support makes it easy to use one product for your patching and software deployment needs. Automatic scanning which uncovers which patches are needed for installed applications/OS. Their live dashboard makes it easy to determine the level of compliance. Their built-in live chat makes it easy to connect with Support to resolve issues.

Desvantagens:

Their current reporting makes for troubleshooting deployment issues difficult sometimes but their support is top-notch and I've been told this is being addressed as is on their roadmap.

Amazing tool

Comentários: I couldn't see us ever not using it. we have offices situated around the world and now with home users it gives us a central control platfrom to update, deploy and amend devices regardless of their locations.

Vantagens:

Being able to patch any machine and pretty much any app from anywhere, what isn't there to like as an IT admin. We previously used SCCM and that always depended on VPN or being on a network or when the schedule was, which meant our machines were always out of date. With Automox we don't have that issue. Also we can deploy apps and config to devices more efficiently than even SCCM or Autopilot.

Desvantagens:

The remote access component could be a great integration, but we haven't found it reliable.

Why to use Atomox

Comentários: It has been great to push updates and organizing our machines

Vantagens:

How super convienant it is to have all machines in one place to easily monitor

Desvantagens:

There is nothing to dislike that I have thought of

Did not work correctly.

Comentários: Could not get this to work effectively even on just two windows servers, contacted support and got an initial response but nothing more. Looks nice and would be a good solution if it worked, it just seems unfinished and flaky. I suspect you need to enable a firewall rule for 3rd party updates to work ( suspect the same for Linux) .

Vantagens:

Looks nice, works fine with Linux ( as long as firewall is set up) fairly simple setup.

Desvantagens:

Did not pick up that our 2008 test machine had not patched in 2 years. Did not show all the "Supported" 3rd party software. No Logs. Did not have any info on updates not applying. Policies did not seem to apply correctly. Still requires WSUS( or risk using online windows updates which kill bandwidth) No Linux Onsite Cache

Effective Platform

Comentários: Overall positive, some minor issues but it fills its use case for us

Vantagens:

Effective patch management and remote script running

Desvantagens:

Can be difficult to remove endpoints/reclaim licenses when we don't have access to the endpoint

Automox is the real deal!

Comentários: My experience with them has been great. They've made our patch management process a lot easier and they are very easy to work with.

Vantagens:

Once you get your policies and groups configured, Automox runs like a well oiled machine and your administrators can be very hands off.

Desvantagens:

There isn't anything that I don't like. They're always making updates and are very forward thinking.

Save time and make your clients happy!

Vantagens:

I love the amount of time we save keeping our systems updated and secure and confident that the latest security patches have been applied.

Desvantagens:

Can't really think of any negatives. There are a few features missing that could help streamline patch nights but they are not critical pieces.

Simple and safe patching solution. Glad I went with Automox

Comentários: Support team is awesome and fast to respond. Customer care team is good on checking in and making sure you have what you need. Fairly informative on new features and downtimes are next to nothing with Automox.

Vantagens:

I like that the time the time to implement Automox and how easy it is to use was the biggest pro to Automox. Within 4 hours I had our entire server environment ready to patch and get caught up after our last patching solution had been pulled for over 4 months.

Desvantagens:

Only hard part with Automox is writing worklets and understanding how it works and what permissions the agent has to the machine to make registry changes or deploying non standard software to the machine.

Best in class

Comentários: Has been a joy from day 1! From the staff to the community users it has been an amazing experience.

Vantagens:

Easy to setup, deploy and use! Powerful worklets predefined and the ability to create your own is awesome! An amazing community and very helpful staff as well!

Desvantagens:

I do honestly have none! Are the some visual things I personally would change, sue, but this is the sane for every product!

Patch and Software Management in one

Comentários: Good experience, easy to use, easy to deploy, can find what I need on their forums

Vantagens:

The flexibility to write your own tasks and create custom policies

Desvantagens:

It could use better reporting, right now you generate a PDF which just shows the basics

Must have tool for auto server patching

Vantagens:

Easy setup, save a lot of time patching all the servers. Good logging functions for troueshooting. Good dashboards to see the full picture of infrastructure healthy.

Desvantagens:

Sometimes, agent auto upgrade failure, need manual fix. Some auto patch hang servers, need manual fix. Better to only auto patch real low risk patches.

Automax is very helpful with patching

Comentários: I'm very happy with Automax and have recommended this product to several of my peers.

Vantagens:

I like the ease of installation on each computer and that I can set it up to run scans and patches daily.

Desvantagens:

I don't have any Cons thus far. They continue to update the website and product.

Automox is automatic

Vantagens:

The deployment and ease of use. The reporting features are excellent

Desvantagens:

Nothing, it is so easy to use and deploy. It has taken a lot of leg work out of the mix.

Game Changer!

Comentários: I found Automox at a conference and purchased about two weeks later. The team has been great to work with and stayed in touch, unlike so many others that disappear into the night after the PO is signed.

Vantagens:

It took me nearly 20 years in I.T. to finally find a patch/update solution that I liked and that actually worked. In most simple terms...Automox just works! Setting up Automox itself was trivial. Installing the client is one of the easiest clients. After that...check in periodically, approve patches, and rest easy...because for once you know your systems are actually patched. Plus you have reporting for management without any extra effort.

Desvantagens:

It needs to grow more. Right now it still doesn't support 100% of our software, including some heavily used well-know titles. Support for other software needs to grow by at least 10x if it's going to have a chance to succeed. The software deployment piece also has some kinks to work out.

Simple software that continues to get better

Comentários: The software is simple and rollout is seamless, the console ensures we know whats going on for updates on our inhouse and cloud servers, this relieves a lot of manual work which we used to do on the boxs to keep them upto speed with windows updates.

Vantagens:

Constant upgrades, good service and clear communication.

Desvantagens:

Lack of formal inventory planning, they are getting there but I dont think its a priority yet, however at the print point automox is a great value.

Awesome product

Comentários: Automox is the first patch management software I've used that I can trust to get the job done without babysitting. That said I did take 4 months of babysitting to prove to myself that I can finally relax, a little, and not worry about the job getting done.

Vantagens:

Fast, Reliable, easy to configure and very easy to use.

Desvantagens:

The only issue I've seen so far, not really a problem just an annoyance, is when you sort by "Group Membership" it sorts the pages separately instead of truly sorting by the column. Like I said, just annoying.

Trifecta - Mac, Windows, Linux management

Comentários: Even though it is new, I am impressed. Any new start up would be crazy not to give this tool a look. Any IT shop that is cross-platform should give them a try too.

Vantagens:

The requirements of my management tool were hard to fill: support the 3 major OS client flavors, be run as an SaaS offering, and it must not depend on Active Directory. I was surprised to find all 3 requirements were near impossible to find, heck even 1 of the 3 was a challenge, 2 seemed impossible. Then I stumbled on Automox - all 3 boxes checked. The test drive was simple - and powerful. The tool is fast too! Once a client is installed it is mere moments until a complete hardware/software inventory is reported in the console, and policies are ready to be deployed. Need software to go out to a Macbook, Windows laptop, and Linux rig? It can do all three.

Desvantagens:

The solution is new - and still working on features. It isn't buggy as you might expect, but it lacks great reporting, and a few features I would love to see. However they do respond to requests, and they do share their roadmap with customers. So I know some of the drawbacks are already on the way to improvement.

Life Saver

Comentários: We deployed Automox to help patching and maintaining of almost 100 computers and 15 servers onsite and cloud based. Most of the staff has been in a hybrid work scenario office/remote so the old methods of updates were time consuming. Automox was also easy to implement in our BYOD environment. Saved a huge amount of time. We tried other solutions or modules in our RMM but they required constant work. We spend much less time administering Automox.

Vantagens:

Appreciated the ease of use and the quick start up time and quick responses from the support team. Use on both Macs and PCs was much easier than other systems.

Desvantagens:

Don't have a con so far. I haven't had a bad experience yet.

Automox - Easy to implement and maintain.

Comentários: The ease of use is what brought us to Automox. They haven't disappointed.

Vantagens:

Very easy to implement and maintain. Automox is customizable with Grouping of devices and different types of policies. The types of policies include the standard types of patches, plus things like required software , and more detailed scripting via Worklets to do just about anything.

Desvantagens:

Not really any dislikes. They continually rollout features and improvements. These can tracked by viewing the product roadmap.

Good product for patch management

Comentários: We were looking for a software patching solution and this fit the bill perfectly.

Vantagens:

Easy setup and it makes the patching process easy.

Desvantagens:

Nothing really was bad at all. It was fairly basic I guess if thats a con.

Automox Review

Comentários: Great product. Anticipate using it beyond its intended lifecycle. Made life a lot easier and a lot simpler.

Vantagens:

Ease of use. Easy to setup and deploy. Cost is effective. worked great during the beginning of the Pandemic when on-prem update services had major drawbacks.

Desvantagens:

Integration with AV was tiring. Troubleshooting software deployment packages.

Like everything...easy to use, deploy and budget friendly. GREAT customer service!

Desvantagens:

Nothing so far :) I've enjoyed using it and hove referred others who were looking for a solid patching solution.

Easy cloud management for updates and patches for OS and software

Comentários: Gives us an overview of computer updates and problem computers

Vantagens:

Easy to deploy with group policy and has an easy to read dashboard that makes it simple to spot problem computers. Supports multiple organizations without having to use different logins

Desvantagens:

Takes time to learn the new interface after major updates, does not have an obvious alert when you run out of endpoint licences

Great cloud based Patch Management solution for local and remote user devices.

Vantagens:

I run an IT department that has multiple US and International locations, patch and update management is always a chore across multiple OS platforms. AutoMox solves this issue for us and gives us great reporting for security, compliance and support needs. AutoMox has also helped us greatly with new MAC OS X deployments and software compatibility issues that require updates. Ease of use. Very easy to get up and running in minutes. I am very grateful for the stability and lack of bugs within the system.

Desvantagens:

Lack of SSO, SAML and MFA adoption. With this application having the ability to touch all systems from your company that are added, a better security model for account access is required. A login password only does not cut it these days. 3rd party software list needs growth.

Overall it's a great software patching software

Vantagens:

Easy to navigate and use. Also has the ability to provide easy to read reports to present to higher ups to show them that patching your software is important and Automox was worth the purchase.

Desvantagens:

It lacks logging capabilities right now. For example if someones machine fails to update, or reboots when it should not have, there's not really a good log view in Automox to identify the root cause of the issue.
