Great storage capaciy.

Comentários: I really enjoy it and think it's a practical storage software. I do wish it had more encryption features for healthcare documentation.

Vantagens:

Love that this has a disaster recovery option, as living in Houston we have a lot of power outages, hurricanes and times when the city shuts down. I also like that this have an unlimited storage capacity.

Desvantagens:

I wish the encryptions were different based on the field of use.

WORST. COMPANY. EVER. I joined for their cheap "start off" plan, which was $5 a month or something. I didn't realize how sleazy the company was, so of course I didn't read the fine print. They give you a certain amount of space, and I went 5% over (yes, FIVE PERCENT), and they started charging $55 a month to my credit card. WORST. COMPANY. EVER.

Great service and excellent price

Comentários: I like the service so far, it's quite cheap and cost-effective in comparison to others. It's got everything I need and more. I would maybe refine the interface in a more modern fashion and improve the overall experience (see my cons), but for this price there's really little I can complain about.

Vantagens:

I like the ability to upload automatically an incremental backup of my data. The app works flawlessly on my M2 MacBook and this relieves me of some worries in case the disk fails or something happens to my contents. I also love the price/Gb ratio of iDrive, since I also use cloud drive a lot and I need so much space.

Desvantagens:

I would refine a little the management of the cloud drive folders in a similar way as Google Drive and OneDrive. I'd like to have a mirrored version of my files without actually having to download them physically on my computer, so that I could choose only the content I need for download and keep in the cloud the rest. Sometimes the navigation in cloud drive folders gets stuck and you need to reload the page, but that's no big deal.

Excellent Easy Backups

Comentários: After having some odd transfer issues with another online file backup service, I switched to iDrive. Initial setup is easy, because I just picked the folders I wanted to backup, set my schedule, and I was done. The previous service had a more complicated method of choosing your folders that involved setting up exceptions. I didn't like it. My home internet service maxes out at 10mpbs upload speeds, which was making my initial backup of over 300gb of files take a long time. I used the iDrive Express service to mail my files in via a hard drive sent from iDrive. That ended up being quicker than the full backup via my internet connection. The price seems more or less in line with other similar services, so no complaints there. My only minor complaint is that the duplicate file cleanup routine needs to be run separately from the actual backup. I feel like that should be part of the backup process. Luckily, that can be scheduled too. Overall, iDrive is a really nice online backup solution.

Fantastic value for money

Comentários: Excellent so far, have backed up 500gb+ with no issues, test restores went well, support responsiveness has been great, online help articles are thorough, reporting and monitoring is great. Switched from a competitor and very worth while.

Vast array of features, great configuration options, excellent value for money.

Desvantagens:

The archiving feature is great, but I had a suggestion for how it could be improved to better manage/report on what files are archived and which aren't. It's not available today, but I contacted their support who very responsive and logged a feature request for it.

Great Features

Comentários: It has been great with helpful customer support. They even mailed me a hard drive for a faster backup and restore option. No reason to worry about losing files anymore.

Vantagens:

The software installed easily and allowed for an intuitive backup setup followed by a backup of my entire system.

Desvantagens:

Initial backup over the internet time consuming, but that's more a function of my slow internet.

Comentários: This is one of the best cloud backup solutions I've used, and I've used several. As an added bonus, it's very competitively priced to others on the market.

Vantagens:

Downloading the software, installing it, setting it up, and getting it started were all very easy and straight forward. One of the biggest selling points for iDrive was the value of the product compared to current competitors. I have a considerable amount of data stored on my computer for my business and school, and wanted a way to back up my hard drive without buying more physical equipment.

Desvantagens:

The first back up took considerably longer than a few other services I've used, with the same internet connection and similiar data size. However, I let the backup run overnight and it was ready to go by morning!

Everything I Need!!

Comentários: It's a wonderful backup and storage solution for all my important videos, documentation and photos for years to come!

Vantagens:

I can backup and restore to any device as needed at any time I choose. Being able to take my time to reorganize my documents, photos and videos without anxiety that my PC will up and quit any moment due to the OS. Encryption and security mean the most to me and I know my personal and business information will not be leaked all over the Web. It's fast and I can set a time for the backup when I'm sleeping. It will work in the background if needed too. I love being able to share files and letting others view photos without having to store them on my phone. I can delete all files from all my devices after backing up in order to clear some space.

Desvantagens:

I honestly haven't come across any cons yet, and I don't think I will.

iDrive is fast but has a somewhat confusing UI

Comentários: Quite happy because of the speed. A bit less happy because I never have full confidence about the backup status.

Vantagens:

The upload speed was great. Where Crashplan took a few months to upload everything (4TB), iDrive did it in less than a week. The ability to backup to a local drive or NAS is essential for me. Backing up multiple computers using the same account is a cost saver. With other backup services I needed to get two 5 TB licenses, where both accounts cannot be larger than 5. With iDrive I can backup with a 10TB license where one of the computers can go over 5 if the other one is less than 5.

Desvantagens:

The UI is confusing. - It is very difficult to check which files have actually been backed up. No tree with green or red checkmarks. - The backup logs are difficult to read Backing up of open files ; i am still not sure if that really works because the software sometimes gives error messages on these files (outlook, lightroom) The local backup feature is nice. But it is only one backup set. So one set of files to one location. Would love the ability to have multiple local backup sets. I would like to see what iDrive is backing up real-time; which file is being backed up now, which ones are in the queue.

Advantages of I-Drive

Comentários: The set-up is very easy, and Tech Support is always available 24/7 to help you with any questions.

Vantagens:

Easy to use...moderately priced...great Tech Support...Easy to back-up your entire Desktop, including all operating programs, Photos, C-Drive, all Documents, etc.

Desvantagens:

There are not "cons"...It is so much better than "Microsoft One-Drive".

Disappointed and frustrated

Comentários: It’s competitively priced, thus I signed up. Interface is quite confusing and not very appealing and it takes some getting used to.
Worst part is, that I wanted to share a file, it then sends a OPT code in order to recognize the device I’m using in this case laptop, that I ALWAYS use.. anyway, the code has not reached my email within the 5 minutes you are given before expiration. I really had no time to wait second and third and forth and fifth time while frustration gets in a way I put wrong, late delivered codes then account gets locked for 24 hours !!!! Support can NOT do anything about it ! This, just is ridiculously stupid and I’m not sure how could this even fly in professional settings of any such services?!

Security for a small business

Comentários: We were looking for a new online cloud backup solution, as our old one could not process our card. iDrive came up as a suggested option multiple times.
The payment and subscription set up process was painless and easy on iDrive.
We were able to download and schedule backup right away. The full backup process took about 5 hours for each laptop device. This is at par with our experience with other such apps.
We had some questions based on the error log, and iDrive support got back to us fairly promptly with clear suggestions.
Overall happy with this app, which helps us take off our mind from file loss related issues and get on with running our business.
I am writing this review based on a request from iDrive.

No technical knowledge needed UI and instructions are easy to follow Perfect for a small business with limited data and devices The basic plan provides scope for future data needs Different options for scheduling backup means we can 'set it and forget it' Backup can be scheduled for the less busy times Support is excellent and got back with clear and specific answers to our queries within 12 hours and also followed up The iDrive software does not occupy too much memory when processing Was able to purchase and set up subscription for the software without any issues. Other backup options had some issues and were not able to process our credit card.

Desvantagens:

Having used various other backup options in the past, we don't find any cons as compared to those other tools.

Really impressed to far

Comentários: Overall I'm really pleased, the cloud backup market has clearly expanded significantly since I last shopped around and I'm very impressed with this service.

Vantagens:

I switched to IDrive recently after a bad experience with my previous system, Arq. Immediately IDrive has been better in every way I can perceive so far. The software is much clearer, better organized, and easier to use, but I haven't noticed any lack of features. I'm using it to backup my work drives to the cloud drive, both running a daily full backup as well as hourly 'Continuous Data Protection' backups. I love that i can then access that data from other computers, vs Arq which has a very limited feature set for accessing your backups (only from the computer that initiated the backups, only from the desktop application). It's also much cheaper!

Desvantagens:

I honestly haven't noticed any downsides so far, will be doing a test of the backup retrieval process soon.

Ideal multi-platform backup solution

Comentários: Installation on both MacOS and Windows was smooth. Configuration of the backup on both platforms is relatively easy with good interfaces to understand what is selected for backup vs. not selected. MacOS security features did require a few more hoops to jump through but they were well documented in the instructions.

Vantagens:

The provided multi-platform apps are well-designed and integrated with their respective platforms (MacOS and Windows 10). Scheduling automated backups is a set and forget operation..no need to think about planning to manually backup files. In remental backups recover the backup operation from any system issues encountered in earlier backups.

Desvantagens:

No real cons to this service and software. It works as described and provides security and peace of mind that your systems are backed up regularly. One thing that would be nice is the ability to back up directly from a cloud account such as iCloud to iDrive.

Comentários: From the currently available cloud backup services I tried IDrive is definitely my "go to" for personal use, based on the amount of storage on offer, relative ease of use and overall good value for the price.

The amount of storage, quick server speeds when backing up large files.

Some of the available functions/settings not easy to find within the interface

Comentários: Having used the product for a few weeks its hard to find much fault with it. The cloud back is very important and after the initial backup its very fast. The continuous data protection is also very important along with the full backup options. Very pleased with the service so far.

Great solution for safe backup and peace of mind

Comentários: IDrive gives me peace of mind for a great price. At this cost I accept low transfer speed and I appreciate great automatic backups with ability to backup external drives. As a student and freelance video creator, IDrive is a solution I need.

Barely acceptable upload speed of small files and terrible upload speed of files over few gigabytes. However, after first few days/weeks of uploading archival data, later it is not a big problem.

Competitive priced backup, but with some inflexibility

Comentários: I would say it is fine, with the shortcomings described above.

Vantagens:

Very fair prices. You get 5TB for less than 2TB at close competitors. Upload speed is fast. I can utilize my entire 100 Mbit upstream to make the backup.

Desvantagens:

There are two ways to upload files: Backup or clouddrive. The backup is based on the file structure of the PC. In my particular case, I wanted to backup an external drive, which is usually connected to two different PCs. I started at one, uploaded 300 GB, then switched to the other. In this case, the first upload was nearly wasted, as it started from scratch on the new PC - I would like one backup regardless of the host. Well, first I figured out that a new installation of the software make me choose between a new PC and replace the existing one. By uninstalling the software, reinstalling and choose 'replace', then I could continue the backup - almost! Because, the drive letter of the external SSD were different, so I also had to change this to continue the upload. Quite annoying. The second option, I also considered, but there I must have a folder on the computer to sync to. Which means that I must collect everything I want to backup in a single folder. Which is not optimal either. So, for my use case, the only option is to use the backup from a single PC only. Not optimal, but OK. That's the limitation of getting the good price.

It is simple to set-up, pricing for 5TB backup is affordable, I was able to add ALL my devices including, Laptops, Phones and iPads

Desvantagens:

I have used it on several devices, and I have not had any issues.
