Hevo is an impressive feature-packed product with great UX

Vantagens:

1) Self serve product with super UX - we were able to start our pipelines by ourselves within a day 2) Detailed documentation for every source / destination with appropriate up-to-date references 3) Was impressed by the overall speed - after submitting a job to queue, it picks up the job almost immediately 4) Transformation supports Python which is great, data can be manipulated by custom scripts 5) Full visibility and control over the entire pipeline 6) Schema mapper is great, auto-mapping works for most of the use cases. Manual mapping is also possible. It shows and asks user to confirm what query it is going to execute at the destination, which is good 7) Workbench available to run queries at the destination, custom data models available to create "views" from destination tables

Desvantagens:

1) Didn't quite like the limit on number of sources in plans 2) Schema mapper doesn't have an option to change column types at the destination

Happy with Hevo!

Comentários: If you need an easy way to bring some data into your data warehouse, I definitely recommend going with Hevo. They are a great value, have good documentation, and are easy to use! We have a small data team so this has saved us a lot of time versus developing custom connectors or dealing with other more complex softwares (such as Informatica, Talend, etc).

Vantagens:

Good support. Easy to use. Basic connectors and functionality just work. We were able to quickly load several data sources to our Snowflake data warehouse to replace our previous workflows.

Desvantagens:

Some connectors are still in Beta but support is helpful in answering questions and resolving any issues. Also, some things you need to do a certain way for the connector (example - when bringing data in from S3 and FTP you need to have different events in separate folders), but I think the ease of use makes up for that versus a heavier weight software and they add new functionality often.

Good product for small data sets

Comentários: Their customer support team is great with quick turnaround time.

Vantagens:

Easy to setup and no/low code approach is what works for someone just starting with Data engineering.

Desvantagens:

reliability has been a concern with Hevo with downtimes, bugs, corner cases and missed events. It doesn't seem to work well at scale.

One step solution for end-to-end Data transfer

Comentários: As a product analyst we signed up for a free trial of Hevo and finds the onboarding process to be straightforward. We used the built-in connectors to connect their data sources to Hevo and create a data pipeline that transfers data from their sources to their data warehouse in real-time. I appreciates Hevo's user-friendly dashboard, automated error handling, and ability to customize and monitor data transfer. After a few weeks of using Hevo, we have noticed a significant improvement in our team's ability to consolidate and analyze data, enabling us to generate reports and insights more quickly and accurately, leading to better business decisions.

Vantagens:

Simple and Intuitive Interface : Way too easy to use .Seamless Integration with Multiple Sources : Integration with almost every possible tool. Real-time Data Transfer.Automated Error Handling and Also showing where the pipeline is failing and what is the reason behind it.

Desvantagens:

Data transformation needs to have some helping tutorial . Appending data and taking whole data snapshot should have some toggle.

Hevo Data saved us

Vantagens:

Hevo Data saved our company in more ways than one. For the bi-directional Hubspot features alone, this tool is worth the cost for us, hands-down. We were able to pull all of our Hubspot data into our data warehouse, annotate, and push back to custom properties and objects. The tool worked so well, we began using it as the core ETL connector for our data lake, and are testing as our scheduled task manager for the core transformations for our data warehouse. The pricing model has worked out well for us. The free trial to prototype how the thing works, and how we could be efficient with our usage of connectors, has also been wonderful.

Desvantagens:

THe list of connectors is really good, but not 100% where we wish. In addition, migrations from one tool to another (e.g. Intercom -> Hubspot) require us to do a bunch of manual mapping that is hard; other tools have these mappings canned and are therefore easier to use for that use-case.

The best Data Extraction service for Startups

Comentários: Hevo was the ideal tool that I needed to bootstrap our data infrastructure. As the person who set everything up I am very satisfied with them and hope that this will be a long partnership.

Vantagens:

Hevo is very easy to set up (the whole process is self explanatory) and has a lot of integrations. It also allows for a lot of flexibility with Rest API and Webhook integrations. The UI is very well tought out and the whole product feels professional. I should also point out the Consumer Service, which is great and very helpfull. I get answers every time I talk to them, and I feel my problems are being taken seriously.

Desvantagens:

Hevo doesn't allow precise control of the Ingestion and Loading frequency and times. You can only choose a frequency or specify certain times, but even this one is limited to a certain number of runs. This is our only limitation with Hevo right now.

Automating Data Pipelines has never been easier

Comentários: Absolutely great.
In terms of service itself, reliability, customer support.

Vantagens:

It has suited all our needs. - The most critical part was reading Oplog from production MongoDB replica. - Cleaning PII and sensitive data on the fly before loading to DWH - Wide range of sources and even Webhooks (any arbitrary source)

Desvantagens:

I might only add Hevo is constantly evolving. I participate in proposing new useful features from my PoV.

Comentários: If I could give their customer service / support team 10 stars, I would. They've been very responsive and patient while I ask pesky questions.

Vantagens:

I really like how intuitive it is to build a new pipeline and get data flowing from an API into a destination database - in our case Azure SQL.

Desvantagens:

I don't like that REST API calls that yield the same data are not considered "historical" from a billable event standpoint.

It's a "must have" tool

Comentários: Awesome! Hevo makes almost every data loading process VERY simple.

Vantagens:

Easy to use, almost "set and forget" data loading

Desvantagens:

API data that requires authentication to load, but I haven't found another tool that does this either (we had to custom code a solution.

Hevo's ease of use and support

Comentários: My experience with Hevo has been great so far. I'm able to setup most connectors on my own but when I run into trouble, they're right there to help out!

Vantagens:

The GUI is very user-friendly and the support has been great! When setting up a connector, the tips on the right-hand side of the screen are fantastic. For instance, when setting up a new destination in Snowflake, the script to create the role, database, etc are supplied there. You just have to change the names. I've reached out to their support team a few times now. The chat box is helpful to get started and they're very responsive. I've never waited more than 5 minutes for an initial response. If the case escalates, the response is equally impressive. The answers are clear and they're extremely friendly.

Desvantagens:

It took me awhile to figure out how to change the destination table when using an API. It defaults to the table name 'API', which isn't helpful when you're setting up multiple API feeds to the same destination. Once I figured out how to do it though, it wasn't a problem.

Accuracy and security at competitive pricing

Vantagens:

HIPAA compliance, data integrity, documentation, and support

Desvantagens:

features I miss from Stitch like column level ingestion. Ingestion and loading logs are also quite thread-bare and hard to get much information on this.

Hevo: a great solution for all sizes of companies for all data pipeline and data management needs.

Vantagens:

Ease of use, flexible, ability to query data and push the processed data into the warehouse, making all data pipeline needs completely customizable.

Desvantagens:

Sometimes has bugs which cause errors in pipelines, but their customer service is impeccable, and they literally respond in as little as minutes to solve your problem immediately.

Makes ETL really easy

Comentários: Overall, I've seen the product evolve from a beta version to a very mature one in less than a year. Our Analytics team is very happy and can sleep soundly given Hevo is doing the heavy lifting round the clock.

Vantagens:

We have 10+ pipelines streaming a few million rows from multiple databases to a warehouse. It's very easy to use and configure. It supports all popular database types as sources and we can put custom transformation logic in the pipelines. Hevo's support engineering team has also been very pro-active and helpful throughout our engagement to date.

Desvantagens:

I think the documentation could be structured in a format of Source (e.g. MongoDB) to Destination (e.g. BigQuery) with the exact steps required to configure this pipeline. Most users would come to Hevo with this type of requirements and it would aid with discoverability.

Quick customer support and constantly evolving features

Vantagens:

As a person with little ETL experience, Hevo made the process of building pipelines from various sources seamless. When I run into any issues, their customer support team is quick to respond and usually resolves my issue on the spot. If not, they escalate the issue which also gets a quick response.

Desvantagens:

Some features are a little tricky to implement at times, like manual mapping, feature transformation. But I'm usually able to get assistance from customer support.

A really good player in this field

Comentários: Overall good, from meeting to implementation. The Admin interface is very well built.

Vantagens:

We decided to shop around for a new solution because our current provider decided to raise their prices significantly. Hevodata checked all the boxes.

Desvantagens:

When we first started out, our BigQuery costs went up, but we were able to mitigate that by changing the frequency.

We really love that fact that we can easily access 3rd party API's through the Hevo interface.

Desvantagens:

Occasionally, it happened that integrations are not working the first time you set them up. Generally, adding the pipeline again to the system does the trick. Furthermore, you can reach out to the great support crew, and they will help you resolve the issue

Easy to use and reliable

Vantagens:

I find Hevo easy to use and setup. I enjoy the free trial at first because it helped me understand if this is the tool we are looking for (and it was). I also appreciate their support via live chat. Didn't need it often, but when I did they were responsive and answered my questions.

Desvantagens:

I like the least the fact that, when it comes to choosing a billing plan, after 5M events/monthly the next available is 20M. I find this gap too big.

facing issues with deleted or changed entries(events) in the production database, as hevo_marked_delted is not getting updated for all entries and need to connect with cx care for this. For transform only having python 2.8, It should be of the latest version

Overall a nice product

Vantagens:

Hevo is one of the easiest tool to get started with. Every data source we needed was present in Hevo. Pipeline setup process was also straightforward.

Desvantagens:

I believe monitoring could be improved.

Comentários: Awesome product for my simple needs. Great customer service.

Vantagens:

Hevo allowed me to set up an ETL without having a coding (python) skillset. I was able to connect spreadsheets to my DB preventing me inputting by hand or contracting out the ETL development. Customer service was awesome!

Desvantagens:

I imagine I might find some cons as I continue to use the software, but I don't really have any yet. May more options for data types in the destinations???

Very compatible

Comentários: My overall experience with Hevo is very good. The support team is available anytime and are very quick with their response.

Vantagens:

The Hevo is the one frame platform which provides complete cloud ETL features. The data integration from source to destination is very quick. The dashboard provides all the information regarding the history of migration.

Desvantagens:

The data loading speed might have been much more quicker.
