Versátil mas difícil

Comentários: No odo foi um bom sistema, foi possível extrair muitas estatísticas e organizar bem o modo de trabalho das equipes. Infelizmente, pela dificuldade em conseguir manter as alterações em bom funcionamento, muitas das equipes abandonaram seu uso e então ficou bastante restrito. No mais deveria dispor de mais exemplos prontos de configuração que possam dar vazão a novos utilizadores.

Vantagens:

A ferramenta é bastante versáril, aceita plug-ins e configurações de personalização bastante adaptativas.

Desvantagens:

É bastante complexa e difícil a configuração da ferramenta. Como trabalhamos com equipes de distintas funções, não foi possível adequar um modelo que atendesse a todos de forma padronizada.

Facilitou a organização das minhas tarefas

Vantagens:

Muitas vezes tive reuniões com clientes onde eles passavam demandas desenfreadamente e sem controle nenhum e no fim sempre algumas se perdiam no meio das mensagens e acabavam causando um transtorno, com o redmine, devido à sua facilidade de uso, ferramente muito intuitiva, permitiu a organização dos meus boards, comecei a separar as entregas em etapas e aumentou muito a minha produtividade. Ferramente muito boa!

Desvantagens:

Deveria ser visivelmente(layout) mais moderno, ter um visual mais agradável, mas não interfere negativamente.

Flexible Project Management

Comentários: We're customized Redmine to support several aspects of our IT business. Its made it easy to departmentalize things such as Change Requests, Active Directory Request and General Ticket. We've even integrated it into a Self Serve IT tool we recently launched. Its branched several moved pieces together.

Vantagens:

Redmine supports countless user created plugins. This provides a lot of potential for how Redmine can be used. In our case, we customized Redmine to function as an inexpensive IT Change Management / Ticketing Tool.

Desvantagens:

Slight learning curve at first. But Redmine has a lot of forums available, so any challenge you face or feature you may struggle with surely has a forum post about it. I always found the solution to my problem before long.

It's good but old

Comentários: Some years ago, maybe this software was great, not it's a bit old and hard to use compared to the compoetence

You can manage a lot of projets It's GNU/GPL (open source) Capacity to track versions A lot of customizations for all tickets

Desvantagens:

Nowadays the design is a bit obsolete A bit slow on big projects Hard to manage tickets (filter is old school components)

Redmine is good for issue and bug management, but do not use it for anything else

Comentários: In our company, it has been in use as the main project management and configuration management tool. The experience is horrible, only useful for very small projects with little or no updates. To supplement some of its lacking features a reporting tool has been used, but the day-to-day use is horrible both for the team and management.

Vantagens:

Simple, straightforward. Good ticket management for bug-fixing or maintenance phases.

Desvantagens:

All project management-related aspects are invalid. Gantt tool is a nightmare. The Edition of the existing plan is a nightmare. Resource management is flawed.

Use Redmine for yours daily tasks

Comentários: We use Redmine to record everyday task tasks. We would like more resources for project management and agile methodologies. This is generally a good tool, but it depends on your goals.

Vantagens:

Redmine is a great tool for daily tasks. It is opensource and has several plugins that offer more features. Its API allows for easy integration with other software.

Desvantagens:

Project management features are lacking. It is very confusing and the presentation is not good. You need reports too, although new ones can be created using the API. Features for agile methodologies are very important. There is a plugin, but it does not offer a good backlog presentation.

Comentários: Very useful, a quicker form of communication

Can take a while to load depending on Wi-Fin connections

Free software for managing projects, tasks and more

Comentários: From my experience, it is good for experimenting and getting into the world of management. It is also a great collaborator, however in order not to incur delays it is better that a developer is in charge of its maintenance.

Vantagens:

The most favorable thing is that it is open source, that is to say, it is free. It also has an error tracking function, something that is common to appear in free software that does not have technical support.

Desvantagens:

The disadvantage is the support that the platform has, being open source it depends on other users who have had the same problems and know how to develop their solution. In case it generates delays and loss of money to obtain the solution.

Even if you use another tool, you have Redmine to thank

Comentários: Our marketing teams felt overwhelmed by the complexity if Jira. We just couldn't make it work. Redmine, however, with a set of agile plugins, allowed us to have a true kanban board and implement really robust scrum workflows using Redmine. It was a tremendous experience and really helps us tackle our weekly tasks.

Vantagens:

Being an open source project, Redmine has driven out the excess costs from project management and issue tracking software. Almost every other enterprise software project has to keep in mind that their customers can always choose a free and highly customizable read mine installation as an alternative, so Redmine makes the entire ecosystem more robust. What I really like the most is the low overhead for the server so that you can run a very large installation for hundreds or thousands of users on a low cost EC2 instance with extremely good performance. Checkout AWS LightSail if you want AWS specifically. If you're on a tight budget and want something implemented quickly, Redmine is the way to go. There are even hosted solutions out there like Plan.io that take away all the technical requirements for you.

Desvantagens:

Out of the box, you will need to get a better skin and probably customize a lot of the UI to make it look more visually appealing. The overall design a Redmine feels a little dated now, so you will need to download other themes or probably purchase a paid one to make it feel more modern and usable.

Been using Redmine for over 10 years - tried lots of PM tools but keep with Redmine

Comentários: We manage all our web development projects through Redmine, over 2000 now in total. I've tried several other PM tools but none had as much power or as good of a price as this!

Vantagens:

So I run a small web development team, working with medium to large projects for all sorts of clients. We've been using Redmine for over a decade now and have tried several other project management tools that look nicer, load faster, and are easier to set up. However, Redmine is a solid product that allows you to fully describe project tasks, assign to team members, and keep up with project progress. Once you have it set up, it's easy to use and free except for the hosting. We go with the self hosting option but there is a Redmine hosting service I've seen. Definitely recommend.

Desvantagens:

Redmine is clunky, lacks good design, and out of the box, each action requires a new page load. If you do the self-hosted option, you have to install and configure this Ruby on Rails application which is a serious pain in the butt. We hired a guy to set it up for us (3 hours) and the hosting (over 2000 projects now) is costing $22/mo. So even though it's clunky, it does the job well. We are planning on installing some add-ons soon to make it load via Ajax and look nicer.

Best Project Tracker/Management/Team Tool bar none

Comentários: Excellent project/tracker management - faster execution of projects

Vantagens:

You can get the bare bones redmine up and running in minutes using a bitnami stack. Out of the box it's built for speed and simplicity, but if you are prepared to put some minimal effort in to add plugins, you can add many features, all free, that take it to the next level.

Desvantagens:

The barebones version leads many (reviewers on this site included) to think that's all there is. It's built to be modular and extensible, so if you don't like the UI, you can simply add themes, if you want it to do additional stuff like tight email integration, agile (yes there are multiple free versions), helpdesk, Work Breakdown Structures, Charts, fully customized menu bar, repositories, Vault, Excellent Wiki, integrations to Slack and other ticket systems etc - you can do all of that. But because people see versions of Jira or Service Now running with more features (both of which require much more knowledge and effort), they think that redmine is underpowered. So imho that would be my main issue - it's reputation regarding functionality and security - both unfounded.

Good Opensource software

Comentários: Many plugins but sometimes the plugins may contain some security bugs. Be aware of it. Becasue you might have some sensitive information on Redmine

Vantagens:

ya, it's free. And we can optimize it as our own way. Becasue sometime you need to make it suitable for your organization. But for the Commercial software, you can only request them and wait for them. With Redmine, you can do everything you want to make it fit to your people.

Desvantagens:

End-user always complain me about the software is hard to use. For me, a tech, I fell it's OK. But End-user they might need something pretty, beautiful and more visualization.

Redmine Software Review

Comentários: Fun and smooth, having that feeling of sentiment not overshadowing it's overall usability.

Vantagens:

What I love best about Redmine is the ease of using it, nothing feels too complicated. It's also free!

Desvantagens:

I would say that UI looks as if very outdated, it has a look of the early 2000s. However, others may argue that this is stylish, and there is some merit to this, I'd agree.

A cheap option for time tracking management

Vantagens:

The pricing is really good and the integration with attendance devices is really smooth.

Desvantagens:

The user interface is very classic, it could be improved. More project management options to be added.

A great IT task management platform

Comentários: I've been using Redmine for IT task management and I'm very happy with it. It's an open source solution.

Vantagens:

Integrates with Subversion and Git, which is awesome for IT PM.

Desvantagens:

It does not have native Oauth2 authentication

Free task management tool

Comentários: It is easy to use, useful for independent tasks, small projects and without dependencies.

Vantagens:

It is a free tool that allows you to manage tasks

Desvantagens:

It is not very robust, it does not allow me to control state changes with conditions or programming, it does not allow me to create dependencies between tasks that allow me to have a specific project

Full customizable but not great

Vantagens:

One of the things I like the most about Redmine is the customization it has. If you have an on-premise service you could just create your own theme for the company, create your own "ticket" categories and so on. It's very flexible in that way so if you manage it correctly and have a great maintenance probably it's worth for a few bucks.

Desvantagens:

It's horrible at issue management, even tho you can customize the UX it's not intuitive, it has a big community but not that big compared with their competitors and most of the plugins are hard to implement or incomplete since are obsolete. Also if you choose the on-premise solution like I said you will have to make a monthly maintenance or in large companies it does not escalate properly and you will have to improve your servers expending more money or even extracting the database to another external service.

Great free software for bug tracking and project management

Comentários: Single application to manage projects/ bugs and gain visibility of the work load across all engagements. Integrated wiki allows for creating knowledge base and support information

Vantagens:

Redmine is dead simple to setup (esp. if you get the Bitnami distribution) and use. The application is customizable - custom fields/ custom workflows. It can be easily extended with third party plugins. You can even find free mobile application to see/ manage work items on your phone We managed multiple client implementation and software product development of an Enterprise SaaS application using this.

Desvantagens:

While this is not squarely a Redmine issue, it an issue of the underlying stack and has affected us a few times - plugin/ dependency incompatibility. Redmine runs on Ruby and the Ruby plugin architecture issues affect it. So, test the plugin install on a separate instance before you put it on your main instance

It's competency in ticket tracking is superb

Comentários: You do not have to be a tech savvy in order to use this application, just let your IT admin to set it up in your computer, then it's all good. All you have to know is what kind of ticket you are going to create and what are its details.

Vantagens:

1. Easy to customize, you can create and select different trackers for your ticket 2. Custom fields allows you to display what are the necessary inputs needed for your ticket. 3. Able to create your own template 4. Create your filter that can be visible to others if you want to. 5. Easy viewing of the ticket status through Roadmap, Agile, or Backlogs (from old version) and etc.,

Desvantagens:

I don't have any cons about using Redmine, it reached my satisfaction. It sends you mail for every changes in the ticket, and that makes me on track.

Redmine - Flexible Open Source Project management software

Comentários: We use Redmine to track support issues for our developers. We can see who is working on what issues and how far along they are. We can re-assign issues to different teams. It works well with not too many problems.

Vantagens:

Redmine keeps track of multiple task and projects. You can track issues, email issues into specific projects, track team members activity for solving the tasks or issues. There are templates that make it easy track progress of common issues/task. Overall it take a small learning curve but is a very powerful project tracking and management software.

Desvantagens:

It takes awhile to learn all of the features and customization.

A very beneficial tool in project management

Vantagens:

The tool organizes the projects very well (you can administer more than one without problems), you can track incidents and errors separately. I love personalization in the distribution and categorization of the stages of the projects. it is entirely useful to cross-reference tickets (which are related). this prevents the creation of orphan tickets since you have an absolute control of the resolution of tickets

Desvantagens:

It is well designed for the management of small to medium-sized projects .. with large projects it is complicated because it allows to make so many changes in the structure of the project that it is counterproductive, at first the interface seems easy but when using it and having so many functions that it would be necessary A previous training for the use, it becomes very expensive when you upgrade to the premium versions of the tool. The Ruby on Rails pre-configuration requires technical experience, this is an additional cost. The administrative interface is not as effective and does not offer as much functionality as the rest of the tool. the distribution and loading of errors and incidents must be well defined, it can be a problem if the team does not understand well when it comes to "closed / result" or "Open / solving" ... it is not a 100% tool intuitive

Good tool but needs a refresh

Comentários: Good option for keeping teams organized around the work and more budget friendly than JIRA.

Vantagens:

Simplicity is Redmine's strength by far. It's got a no-frills interface and everything is fairly straightforward and easy to navigate.

Desvantagens:

It's a little feature-lacking compared to some of the other platforms that do the same thing. I definitely find myself frustrated by the search feature for instance.

Not always intuitive, but it's all there

Comentários: Redmine can be customised with themes, to suit it to your needs as a project management tool, built specifically with software/web development in mind. We've managed many complex builds using the tool.

Vantagens:

Lots of features for managing software development with a team.

Desvantagens:

The interface can sometimes be a little clunky, and the WYSIWIG editor isn't always the easiest to use - but it does the job!

Good Tool To Manage Projects and Employees

Vantagens:

In my company we use it to manage the amount of hours an employee work in different projects every single week, i love it because you get to have a full vision of employees behavior.

Desvantagens:

Sometimes when you're assiging hours to projects you're involve in it throws an error and you lose everything you had written before that.

Redmine review on my experiance.

Comentários: I am using this product from last 3 years and overlook and feel of this products need to be enhance and make it more user friendly.

Vantagens:

I like report system very much. you can easily get different report by few clicks.

Desvantagens:

Redmine's fronted look and feel need to be enhance as per the latest flat ui tends.
