EHR use

Vantagens:

It is easy to use. Entire team including support and billing are very accessible and quick to respond to any concerns. It is easily customized and is cost-effective especially for a small medical practice. I was worried in the beginning because the training was not done on-site, but the person who trained me was wonderful and very accessible and responsive to my needs which made it much easier than I had anticipated.

Desvantagens:

I wish I had the ability to make more minor changes on my own without having to go thru their IT support each time.

5 years and holding strong

Vantagens:

We have been with PrognoCIS for 5 years after experiencing an epic failure with another EHR solution. Our practice is a small private medical office and flexibility is paramount to optimizing our functionality. We were looking to stay clear of the old large dinosaur solutions most prevalent in the EHR market and we found PrognoCIS. Our relationship with PrognoCIS has been one of growing appreciation of each of our requirements in order to work toward a common goal, clinic efficientcy. What we like most about PrognoCIS is the adaptability or customization of the product. This takes some effort at implementation and continues to be maluable as we fine tune our processes to be more and more efficient. I particularly like that there are certain aspects that we can tweak to meet our current needs.

Desvantagens:

There are a tremendous number of reports but sorting through them is a challenge. I struggle with understanding the logic with their naming conventions. The good news is that there has been significant improvement with the "Tech Support" so the response time is more reasonable. I appreciate that Bizmatics continues to work on communication skills with the end user and the tech support team. To provide the correct solution one must first understand the issue. My understanding is that this is an industry challenge but Bizmatics has made concerted efforts to improve customer communications with tech support.

Left High and Dry by Prognocis After a Data Breach

Comentários: Stay away from Prognocis! Their customer support is abysmal and getting any response from them is like pulling teeth. Bottom line is their management of our data cost our practice thousands of dollars. Based on my experience, if Prognocis was the only EHR out there, I would skip it and use paper charts.

Vantagens:

Hard to isolate any pros from among the mountain of cons, but I'll try... I never had to change my Prognocis password once in the whole six years I used the program. That's all I've got.

Desvantagens:

Data breach - their system was not secure enough to withstand a hacker attack, resulting in a major data breach. They notified our practice of the breach of their system and then declined to assist with any of the resulting fallout, costing our company many thousands of dollars. They did help other practices that were victims of the breach, but refused to help us clean up the mess they made. Customer support is in India. Reps are difficult to understand and incredibly slow to help. At the time we dropped Prognocis in 2017, they still had multiple support cases (trouble tickets) open and unsolved from 2013. The program looks like it's from the 90s. It is not intuitive, is difficult to navigate, and the output reports come out looking unprofessional. Although we were advised that training was included, we did not receive training from Prognocis when we onboarded with them, leaving us to fend for ourselves in learning their bewildering program. Service is way overpriced for what you get. There are so many better programs out there for less money and trouble. After terminating service with Prognocis, they took well over a month to give our patient records to us, and would not give us access to them in the meantime. This resulted in our practice having NO access to our patients' charts for over a month. When I brought my concerns about this to Prognocis's HIPAA compliance officer, I was rudely and condescendingly dismissed.

Review of Prognocis EMR

Comentários: Compared to our previous software, this has many advantages with access, reporting, and adjusting for tax reporting. There are still some features that have not been implemented yet but look like they will make using Prognocis even better.

Vantagens:

Cloud based so accessible from anywhere. I have run reports from Austria! Customized - Bahamas implemented VAT and Prognocis team was able to accomodate. Reports - great for generating historical data and I can choose the fields.

Desvantagens:

Many descriptions for the same CPT code so too many choices for the doctors - take time to filter through, so I have had to add customized CPT codes for quick finds.

Adaptable Prognocis EMR

Comentários: Have no comparison in developing software, but did not seem to have difficulty with my IT and the growth of the EMR with my pratice.

Vantagens:

Started my medical practice with Prognocis. One of first on east coast in Maryland. Started very small , and have grown the practice several fold. Prognocis has grown with the practice and has evoled with the changes demanded with the electronic medical record industry.

Desvantagens:

Some changes are hard to make without the technical support of Prognocis. Sometimes with these changes it becomes costly.

Streamlined, easy to use and comprehensive!

Vantagens:

The system is easy to use, I can customize myself on the fly and I like the ability to be able to access on my PC, Apple (Mac or IPad at home) or via IPhone App. The clinical flow over to the financial billing side, is a breeze. After using a few other systems, I saw the designers of PrognoCIS truly understand how a clinical office functions and each time this system has met our changing needs. The support turnaround has been responsive and their knowledge of the product and how it applies to our situations, has always been excellent. We have been with PrognoCIS since 2007 and have seen them always continue to improve, with excellent program features and more recently, the shifting of their support more towards the US. It is rare to find such sincereity in companies today.

Desvantagens:

Hard to say anything negative. I know creating good software is never easy and there are always going to be moments of frustration, but they have been far and few between and handled quickly and well.

Easy to learn, flows well.

Comentários: So far I think this is a great EMR, a few glitches here and there but that is to be expected. The ease of use is a plus and great customer service so far.

Ability to log in to the program from any computer, anywhere. Efficient customer service Ease of use availability of customer service or questions for other departments, my emails are always answered in a timely manner Live chat for technical issues

Desvantagens:

I have a hard time understanding most of customer service tech, they fix what is needed but sometimes its hard to communicate exactly what you need. When creating a template, I find some of the process a little confusing, there are so many different places you have to input the info

Comentários: I was looking with my colleague for and EMR three years ago and wanted a system that was web-based to allow access from any location and avoid the issues of in office server maintenance. We found at that time Prognocis to be the best system for us. Since we are a psychiatric practice and there were no specific modules for our specialty in Prognocis, they created the specific templates for us and we use them today. As an added benefit, we have been utilizing the patient portal to help facilitate the collection and documentation of new patient information and follow ups. Our experience with the Prognocis program has been easy to learn and in general the updates have continued to improve its quality. Its greatest assets continue to be its ease of use, ease of individualizing templates for specific clinical practice needs, and continuous updates to improve and expand its usefulness. You cannot ask for a better experience with technical support. The issue is not if one needs technical support, but how is it handled. Since technical support is an essential element in any EMR use, the quality of service is a component for long term use. The response has been fast, problems solved in a short time and on rare occasions when it was more complex, sent to the development team for timely resolution. In addition, the availability of training for new and existing staff is very beneficial. I am not suggesting its a perfect system. If you will use it there will be components that may frustrate you, and you will experience technical glitches, but you always feel there are highly qualified professionals available to provide support, encouragement and solve the problem. I feel I am part of an ever evolving and improving system.

Tried this, just wasn't for me

Vantagens:

It worked decently for our small office. We were able to integrate some of the features, but really this is for a bigger place

Desvantagens:

I did not like the feel of the features, felt it really wasn't working for our small place and we wanted something very user friendly.

We had a miserable experience switching over to Prognocis.

Comentários: The experience of data entry because it didn't carry over any of our old data.

Vantagens:

Once everything is set up, the view in the patient's chart makes everything easily accessible. The electronic fax receipt makes it faster for us to process the documents faster.

Desvantagens:

When we switched over to this system they promised that our patient information would be transferred over from our other system. We didn't find out until it was too late that they meant they would upload a PDF version of the patients medical history, and we would have to manually enter it into the system. The providers were constantly irritated that the information they needed was not in the patients chart, despite our efforts as staff to ensure that the information was there. The messaging system is impossible to use, making it hard to keep track of patient and staff communications. We frequently had issues with the billing system they forced us to use, which was outsourced to India. Patients constantly had problems with their billing, and we had to refer them to the contacts in India who were often hard to get a hold of. Our office billing staff was stuck fixing mistakes made by this departement that could have been avoided had they been handled in house. We constantly asked for things to be changed and made more user friendly, being told that they would fix it but never seeing any results. This program is expensive to use, and we feel like it has caused more issues than benefit.

More to improve upon

Comentários: PrognoCIS has been working for our small company of 2 providers, but leaves a lot of things unfinished.

Vantagens:

This software has great report print outs for stats and follow up. Customer Service team is pretty good at customizing a report we'd like to see to tabulate which patients have been referred by which doctor, or which patients have cancelled appointments in the past.

Desvantagens:

This software needs work on streamlining user-to-user messaging, regarding individual patients. Also needs to have better ability to customize word formatting in the patient report (I.E. HPI and assessment and plan)

BEWARE: Horrible integration and customer service; Extorting us when we cancelled.

Comentários: Horrible experience from start to finish. The icing on the cake is that they now informed us we must pay them 2500.00 to obtain PHI of our patients for retention of the records or they re deleted last day of service (unless we pay the 2500) That's extortion.

Vantagens:

Honestly. Nothing. It's been a headache from the start.

Desvantagens:

Extremely poor implementations. Features promised never materialized including DOT implementation. Using them for billing which was a huge mistake. Once we took over our own billing we realized thousands had incorrectly been billed and/or not followed up on.

Needs better customer support.

Vantagens:

Can access EMR from any computer. Customizable to your needs.

Desvantagens:

They are all accommodating when trying to sell their product, but they drop the ball once you are a customer. It is difficult to get help from customer support, and we are often dealing with language barriers. Often the system goes down in the middle of our work day, and you can't get a rapid response. Due to current and changing insurance requirements, small changes and tweaks often need to be made. We find it a lengthy and laborious process trying to get prompt help and assistance. A better system would be to assign a contact person or support person to each account. It is most frustrating dealing with their tech support in India and different time zones. We have left messages and had them returned at odd times.

Vantagens:

Very customizable, you can create your own templates and schedules and it is easy to use once you understand.

Can be hard to get support, the techs are out of the country and it can be hard to get up with them, slow response time

Vantagens:

The software is easy to use, the support staff has been great from day one. The training with [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] and her team was great. Being a small business makes thing difficult as is, the support I have received from PrognoCIS has been AMAZING!!!

Desvantagens:

At this point I don't have a least like. Everyday I learn more using the software and If I have a question they provide (Live person) customer service. I had a question about my bill and received a call from PrognoCIS leadership [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] who was extremely professional and was able to answer to my satisfaction.

PrognoCIS EMR

Comentários: The Bizmatic's development team has been instrumental in assisting us to customize a solution to automate our current operations. This customization includes automation of test results from medical equipment used in our Medical Clinic, the design of a Drug & Alcohol Randomization Tool for the Work Place Drug & Alcohol Program, a design of an Employee Assistance Program module and design of a specialized Workers' Compensation module to track and report payments. The software is extremely intuitive, easy to use and easily customizable by the end-user.

Vantagens:

Quick navigation. Affordable. Integration with external data is available. Vendor ability for customized module development. Sales, development and implementation staff are easy to work with.

Desvantagens:

Feedback is sometimes delayed as many developers are in India.

Comentários: Originally I thought this would be a good system but have found it cumbersome and not easy to use. Purchased it to use on a cloud format and have problems with printing notes, referrals, and prescriptions - and wind up getting blank pages.
Also when trying to copy information from prior notes, I will get active x problem even though Internet settings are allowing active x. Have to log out and log back in again. I have tried customer support and their response time has been delayed.
Underwent a CMS audit for meaningful use, and they could not help us. They finally got back to us, after the deadline.
It's currently not offered as an intergerated system with practice management, which makes things difficult because sometimes charges come across correctly and other times it does not. I have had a lot of duplicate billing. Also, it will incorporate codes from prior visits that were not used on current visit, so my billers have to delete codes.
As far as flow, there are problems with it. The point and click system is slow and time consuming even though we use a cloud.
I have not benefitted from the system and even though i have met meaningful use I am switching EHR.

Second to none

Vantagens:

I like that I have options for the work flow. I can scan via network directly into system. I can scan via desk top, or I scan one touch from an older model of scanner. I didn't have to buy new scanner. In addition, the sign in pad, ID, and label printer makes our work flow very efficient.

Desvantagens:

Honestly I can't think of anything at the moment. I've been using software for 1 year now. Everything I request is completed in a timely matter. I receive status right into my software, and I have many resources to learn more about the system.

Bad for Dermatology

Long time user

Vantagens:

It is very easy to get comfortable using the software. There is a lot more to it if you allow yourself to continue to learn and explore it's features.

Desvantagens:

Tech support can be patchy but it is obvious that the company cares and has place good efforts in improvements

Good product

Vantagens:

As a specialty healthcare provider, we needed a highly-customizable Electronic Medical Records system, and PrognoCIS was able to do this for us. It is also a relatively easy system to use and to train others to use.

Desvantagens:

It can be challenging to get a response from technical support in a reasonable period of time. It's often at least 24 hours before anyone returns a phone call. If more substantial changes need to be made, such as updating documentation templates, at least 30 days are required to make changes to and implement the new template. Followup after changes are made is often poor. You have to check back with them to see if the changes have been made that you requested, because there is very little proactive communication on their part.

Prognocis EMR Review

Vantagens:

The EMR is very easy to use and customize. Bizmatics is very responsive and they are will to help along the way with any question you may have.

Desvantagens:

There is nothing I don't like about this. I have used several EMR's in the past

Very unhappy with PrognoCis

Vantagens:

Making appointments with PrognoCis is easy and checking to see when patients were in last is simple and error free.

Desvantagens:

Not user friendly. Sequestered amounts do not come off automatically, if you are posting an eob with several names and one there is a problem with one person, the entire eob cannot be posted. You cannot get help write away. A ticket must be created and then forwarded to India to wait for a response. Very frustrating. After 11 months of using this we are looking for something else.

Great system!

Vantagens:

I love how easy it is took look up anything that you need. Finding a patient's information and prescriptions are super easy and fast to look at. Scheduling, canceling, and moving appointments have never been so easy. PrognoCIS is a great system to use and very easy for beginners.

Desvantagens:

The software can have small bugs and issues sometimes. Sometimes, the system will be very slow or freeze. Also, sometimes, I wish I could edit what section to print when it comes to the summary sheet at the end of the patient's appointment. Most of the information on the summary sheet is useless for the patient and unnecessary for the patient to see.
