Vantagens:

It is like having a medical encyclopedia in your pocket that only takes a few seconds to find what you're looking for.

Desvantagens:

The only thing I dislike about this software is that it isn't free, but for the price you can't ask for a better one.

Great tool for help with diagnosing!

Comentários: My overall experience with Epocrates has a been a positive one as I have used this tool for many years in the hospital as well as the clinic. It has helped with quickly diagnosing and providing treatment plans for my patients.

Vantagens:

I like most about Epocrates the ease of use of the product as well as the variability in diagnosing and treatment plans listed within the program.

Desvantagens:

Sometimes the data is not as hot to date as it could be with certain medication doses and specific treatment plans but overall it is pretty on point.

Comentários: No live person to resolve disputes. Took money out of my account and I did not receive the product.

Vantagens:

Use is nice but I did not get product. I paid for it, money was taken from my account, but NO product.

Desvantagens:

Money was taken from my account by direct debit and I did not get the product. No live person to talk to.

Excellent app that allows quick and practical reviews about drugs of infrequent use and others.

Vantagens:

Easy to use. Very complete database. Available in a format that you can take to the patient's bedside. Allows use by specialty.

Desvantagens:

I would only ask that it be available in Spanish. I can also add, that I had problems accessing my account from the mobile, because I did not accept the password. I had to delete and download the application again.

Perfect for nurses, easy access to all the information you need!

Comentários: It's like having your drug "pocket guide" with you but only having to carry your phone around instead of a heavy book that is never actually pocket-sized. I've even shown the app to some patients, in case they are worried about drug side effects or interactions with how many medications they take.

Vantagens:

I'm normally not looking to sift through tons of information to get the little piece I'm looking for. This software is perfect for that, I normally don't have to search too hard to find appropriate drug dosages, drug interactions etc. The app is also really easy to use, I know nurses of all ages who use this. I was recommended it by a nurse who had been working for a long time and it's a great tool.

Desvantagens:

The paid app is really expensive. Other than that, I think its a must have for new or established nurses.

Epocrates Review

Vantagens:

I like that I am able to easily look up drug information and dosing, and there are calculators to determine child dosing as well. It is an easy to navigate app and webpage and has information that is based on scientific reviews. There is also a drug interaction monitor that will tell you if different drugs interact.

Desvantagens:

I don't have many dislikes for this application and website. I should say that I don't feel like the paid version is much different than the free version for what they offer and what I use most on the application.

Epocrates is very helpful in medical practice. It enabled me have access to quick references.

Vantagens:

I like the easy access to drug indications, interactions, dosages. I also enjoyed the articles that come in as well.

Desvantagens:

Just some bugs that make pages take so long to load. Also i would prefer if there was a way to stream line the kind of articles one recieves on the app.

I like that it is a simple app, easy to search and find what you are looking for. Great to have all of that in your back pocket and easier than looking up drugs in a huge textbook and not always finding what you're looking for.

Desvantagens:

I found that sometimes it didn't have exactly the answers I was looking for but still use it regularly because its so easy.

Necessary resource

Comentários: Epocrates provides the info I need for medication reconciliation, patient education, metabolic half-life and elimination plus the appropriate dosing for adults and children. I do not pay for the additional modules like alternative meds, but would definitely use this module if I could evaluate the content before committing to the upgrade. I've loved using this app for many years and will continue to do so.

Epocrates is an essential resource for anyone who needs drug information that goes beyond webmd and drugs.com. As an RN and patient advocate, I use Epocrates to evaluate drug interactions, adverse effects, formulary info, and most importantly the pharmacology. The app is intuitive, comprehensive and up-to-date. I like the picture quizes/polls and research info

Desvantagens:

I don't always have time for, nor do I want, all of the info in the home screen articles. And the notifications do not go away unless I click on all of them to acknowledge their presence. I would like a way to delete or archive those articles from the initial login screen without opening each one in an effort to eliminate the notifications. They can be deleted once I open the article, but I don't always want to take the time to do that.

Fantastic resource for quick information

Easy to use and even the free version contains a lot of information regarding dosing, side effects, and other clinical pearls for medications.

App on my phone sometimes glitches and am unable to look up new drugs without force quitting.

I love this software and use it daily in my job. I am able to calculate doses, check adverse effects and anything else pertaining to the medication I am prescribing. I am also able to look at various disease processes.

It has all the information on a drug in one location. If I know the drug I want its filled with information about it. Side effects are also covered and dosage ...both for kids and adults. If I want to know about diseases it is covered

Great free app

Comentários: I am a fourth-year pharmacy student and have utilized this app numerous times on my rotations to help solve problems or answer questions quickly and with ease. It is such a great resource.

Vantagens:

This app has a free version that provides a wealth of information when you are in a pinch. My favorite part is the tablet ID function. There have been so many times when patients call and ask what a certain tablet is, and this app makes answering these types of questions super easy.

Desvantagens:

Honestly, not much to complain about. You can search for guidelines right within this app, you can do drug interaction checks, tablet identification, medical equations (crcl). It is a one-stop-shop right at your fingertips with information that is updated on a regular basis. The best part of all, it's free. I can't say enough good things about this app.

Epocrates is a Physician's Savior

Vantagens:

I use this program daily for those moments I need to know dosages quickly. As a Pediatrician, many sources do not have accurate information. I can trust this program.

Desvantagens:

The updates take a while and catch me by surprise since I cannot use the app without updating.

A wonderful tool if there was no medscape

Comentários: I always have it in my cell but i rarely need it since i have it’s big brother too.

Vantagens:

It has some of the most basic tools and data that doctors need. For example it has drug interaction checker, it also has infomration about drugs available for free and some medical calculators. It has FREE app availalbe for mobile devices. I have never seen any ads so it is completley free in that sense, compared to medscape which does show some ads.

Desvantagens:

The tools and resources are tooo limited compared to medscape. In fact it appears like a light version of medscape which is also available for free.

I would prefer using uptodate because I think it is more used and updated and user friendly.

Quick Access to Medications

Comentários: Love having access on my phone with the epocrates App. Very easy to use.

Vantagens:

I really like how quickly I can look up any medication. Very helpful information. I see patients all day long, and run across many meds that I don't recognize, so Epocrates is the solution!

Desvantagens:

I wish that the search bar would predict any mis-spellings. It is so tricky to spell any medication correctly, and wish it would guess what I was trying to find. I also hate the pop ups.

Must have app

Comentários: I use it all the time in my office when I need to check drug interactions and possible side effects

Vantagens:

Simple to look up drugs and their possible interactions. I use this all the time to figure out the generic names for meds and their possible interactions

Desvantagens:

I can't really think of anything I don't like about it. Sometimes sort of clunky and the app isn't really sleek but it doesn't bother me

Good for Quick Reference on Basic Information

Vantagens:

I currently have the free version of Epocrates. The app is generally good for finding out the indications for a drug and other basic information.

Desvantagens:

The free version does not have any type of drug interaction checker or pill identifier, which would be helpful. I also don't like how every time I open the app, a series of short article links pops up in front of the main menu and I have to exit out of that first to get to what I want to see.
