Salon iris is good for basic tasks a hair salon requires to manage appointments. It is relatively user friendly.
I should have waited to use Salon Iris until they had implemented them. My disappointment is due to my frustrations.

It's really pricey for what you get
Vantagens:
I like that Salon Iris has an app that the stylists could use and book from their phones. And they could room reports from their phones, too without blocking up the salon computer.
Desvantagens:
I didn't like that the stylists couldn't book for other stylists from their app. Example: if a family comes in and splits between 2 stylists, they couldn't call 1 stylists to book the 2+ services. They'd have to call both

I would like more customization capabilities for the online booking, but that would be it.
Don’t do it!!
Comentários: Your customer service is not priority. You can’t even call anymore. You have to email. Customer service has been outsourced and you have to wait to hear back from an email a day later or so. When you do finally get an email back, they ask you what the problem is. So then I tell them why don’t you look at my prior email and see what I told you. And then you have to wait another day or two for an email back. Really? Customer service is your priority? What a bunch of bull crap!!!

Their app is really good. More efficient than the cloud based version of the software.
Desvantagens:
Low quality care now!!! I’ve lost tons of money with my online gift cards because Daysmart hasn’t coded in an apostrophe. So like if someone puts in the message for the gift card, happy Mother’s Day…. See how the word mothers has an apostrophe? if your customer puts an apostrophe in the message, it tells them there’s been an error. So then the customer automatically thinks well I must’ve put my credit card in wrong so they go back and do that over again and then it keeps coming up error because there’s an apostrophe put in the message! I asked the company kindly to please code in an apostrophe!!You can put in an explanation or a period but you can’t put in an apostrophe. Why not! ? That’s been going on for years! So what happens in the end is that because someone can’t get through to get a gift card, they go to another place and buy a gift card!! Losing me money! And all over an apostrophe!! if you have DaySmart, try buying a gift card and put in the message. Happy Mother’s Day or a happy Father’s Day and see the error warning come up.!! They don’t even put a note saying don’t use these symbols. The customer just gets confused. And then they move onto the next place!! so stupid! I’m moving onto Meevo! Much much better software!! I’m in the middle of training now and already can see a huge difference. And it’s the same price!
Easy Salon Scheduler
Comentários: Fantastic. I love how easy it is to use and set up and the client reminder text are great to combat against no shows or forgotten appointments!!

Price, efficient, easy to use, lots of reports to pull daily/monthly/yearly numbers from

Overall happy with Daysmart
Comentários: Overall we have been happy with the software and hope to continue the relationship for a long time.
Vantagens:
It is fairly easy to use. It is nice adding promotion codes to apply discounts automatically. Review management is pretty good, still a bit on the fence about it. two-way texting is also very convenient.
Desvantagens:
While there are a lot of reports, there are some limitations to them as well. When checking out, currently tips are not split and need to be manually done. and when doing so, it does not show the original tip amount. For example, if the tip was $22.50, as soon as you start changing it, the original tip amount is gone and the tech needs to remember what it was and do the math to adjust the tips accordingly. Also, tips can not be adjusted after the transaction is complete without voiding the transaction. No support on weekends has been a little challenging, especially early on in our implementation.

Comentários: Overall, I am satisfied. The staff has been warm and welcoming. The system has been overall easy to navigate.
Vantagens:
I love the customer service and email support. Whenever there has been a problem or server connection error they have done well at resolving the issues. Everyone is always extremeley professional.
Desvantagens:
Sometimes guests get a little confused with the drop down menu, if there is a way to showcase a description of each service on the booking link that would be great. At times it is very hard to get ahold of someone over the phone. At some points it took weeks to get issues resolved causing my guests to get double charged multiple times.

they lie they do not provide phone support and the online chat support is not 24/7 it is mon to fri 9 to 5 that is horrible they lock you out of you acct on the same day if the subscription was not paid - I was waiting on my new cc from bank due to a fraud immediately i was locked out. no access to my information it take 10 min for online chat person to accept and reply to you conversation

Comentários: My overall experience is one of great satisfaction and ease, not having to have a separate accountant. It gives a complete account of all my services and finances

I like that at a moment notice i can print any information i need and it's properly laid out

This software is very very very dated. Stylist are now require deposits charged before booking a appointment, require you to pay for the entire appointment in some cases and charging for no shows instantly. I have complained and complained yet they continue to add features that they can make money off of instead of catering to our request. It’s my third time returning and was told it was better and found out that wasn’t true. I am very unhappy with salon iris and as soon as I can find something that caters to the new age way of handling my salon then I’m leaving. I have spoke to [SENSITIVE CONTENT] several time month after month and it’s hopeless. Shame
Love the program, but there’s room for improvement

Most things work well, just small adjustments to improve the software overall

Multiple client accounts not being merged even when the information is exactly the same. Which doesn’t allow accurate history tracking. DaySmart allowed payroll and online booking and ideally did work on Instagram but does not if you need it on multiple accounts. We can’t offer a booking button on Instagram for multiple team members

Comentários: Iris has been a godsend as far as what you have the ability to customize and see . The detail is incredible compared to all other booking systems . Sadly I almost got rid of iris due to their incompatibility with mac computers but after trying multiple other cloud based Booking systems I realized this they paled in comparison to what iris had to offer . I switched to their cloud version. It has been an adjustment as it doesn’t offer all of the same features as their desktop version but it is still by far better than anything else out there .
Vantagens:
I love this software . It’s detail and your ability to completely control whatever you need do is unmatched . Everything from your reports to payroll to appointments / services/ products . I really can’t say anything bad about the functionality of this system both software and cloud .
Desvantagens:
I do not like that their software is not compatible with a MAC computer . I had to run another program that aloud me to run windows on my Mac so I could use the software and if caused serious Problems with my computer causing it to crash regularly , get viruses and run extremely slow. We switched to their cloud version which has been a hard transition as it doesnt have all of the same functionality of their desktop version . I hope It will eventually .

Good for small business
Comentários: It’s been a great software to start with and has worked well for my small business. There are small things I would like to see changed but for the most part, it’s been good and is a reasonable price.
Vantagens:
I like the ease of use, it’s pretty easy to navigate around. Lots of helpful reports for the business and very detailed client profiles. The text reminder are great to have as well!
Desvantagens:
There are certain features as a stylist that need to be tweaked. One is, for example, If a client comes in and wants to only buy product, you can’t just close it out, it has to have a service with it. Also, there is a limit on the amount of texts per month, and you pay for overages. Seems like we are past those types of charges in this day and age. I would certainly use the marketing more if that wasn’t the case. Very limited customer service if you have a lower end package. That should be there for everyone if you want them to be satisfied.
NO DAYSMART
Comentários: I'm very disappointed with daysmart. This was my first business and i give a chance to this software. And online booking system not working. My client can't pay online or can't request appointments. And daysmart not fixing this issue and they still charging me. 😡 I'm going to complain about Daysmart

A must have for your salon or spa
Comentários: I use this program for both of my businesses. Both easy to use and set up. Booking is easy for my clients to use and live that they fill out our forms online
Vantagens:
Easy to use and set up and affordable. All the extras that the program offers. .
Desvantagens:
Diagrams can be added in to the clients files. Documentation is very important

Unhappy with Daysmart
Comentários: Unpleasant. I had a text conversation with a rep who told me that we could cancel the subscription we had through a website and that it would end at the end of our current billing period. The billing period ended and they claimed that we had not cancelled our service. We were billed for the next month and it took about a week and a half to get it situation rectified. Then they disconnected the service but clients were still able to access the online booking and leave us msgs in the chat. To their credit they did get this fixed immediately.
Vantagens:
It was nice to look at. It was easy to add credit cards to peoples accounts.
Desvantagens:
The credit card processor was never working. It would show that a payment did not go through but it actually had. We had angry clients who were inadvertently been charged twice. The online booking was next to impossible for most clients.
Best of the Best Software
Comentários: Every time that I need help with the software I call and every representative explain me very well.
Vantagens:
I like everything, and every day that I can take a look more deep in the software is more than I didn’t knowledge that I can do!
Desvantagens:
Is not difficult it’s super easy to manage.

There's Nothing Similar!
Comentários: Salon iris provides the MOST options within a platform on the market. We have access to unlimited amounts of data and that proves to be a HUGE factor in helping us develop our business strategy year over year.
Vantagens:
We love the amount of customization that salon iris has! The ability to run reports on copious amounts of data that date back years and years is extremely beneficial to our business! We are able to better serve our clients because we can see the data over long periods of time. The customer service is like nowhere else! Everyone is always eager to help and genuinely interested in teaching you how to solve your problems. Each time we've needed assistance they go above and beyond! We love that they're constantly making updates to help us better communicate with our clients whether its through email or text marketing!
Desvantagens:
The only issue that we deal with on a daily basis is the online booking system. It is not as user friendly as it could be and that is the only area where the lack of control , that we have as a client, is difficult because we cannot best accommodate out customers. Due to the way we operate as a salon the online booking is more often a headache for staff and clients because clients see multiple stylists during their visit and the system just doesn't have the intelligence to condense appointments. OR separate each portion of the service. I would love to be able to chose certain services that are able to book on a 15 or 30 and have other services remain only able to book on the hour. We love that there is a mobile app but the interface is VERY different than the server version making it sometimes difficult or confusing when trying to operate the data base. Something that a few other platforms have, is customer apps where they can more easily access their personal information and appointments. Due to the fact that its an american software, understandably, Salon Iris uses american services such as card connect but because we are a Canadian business we have to find other ways of accepting deposits and credit card information. Overall the platform is a little dated and simple things like being able to have multiple windows open at once or being able to move windows around on the screen while they are open would be simple changes that make it a more user friendly experience.
Seamless booking
Comentários: I switched to DaySmart from a software system that requires a lot of space on my hard drive. Now we use iPads. So much easier and more effective way to work.
Vantagens:
This system is easy to use and I love that we have access to it any time because it is online. Also I live that it doesn’t require space on a desktop to operate.
Desvantagens:
There are a few features I’d love to add. 1. ID like to have multiple colored flags to mark appointments designated to stand for different notes. Ie: 1st time client, wants to come sooner etc 2. I’d like to type in a color and have the system tell me how many clients require that color or at least how many times it has been used. 3. Color usage in inventory automatically generated when formulas are added for clients
DaySmart Does It All!
Comentários: We love it----its a great app for a hair salon with many great features that are needed to perform smooth daily operations.
Vantagens:
Very user friendly, easy for training, stylists never have a problem with scheduling, cashing out clients, checking their book for the day, week etc. The online booking app is great, clients love it, the accounting reports are a huge plus, making the day to day operations go very smoothly. We are very happy in our choice using DaySmart.
Desvantagens:
The only issue I would like to see a change in is that the owner should be able to go into a closed ticket and change information, not having to void & redo the ticket.

Comentários: I have recommended this program to many of my colleagues and those in passing. I have been using the program itself for over 13 years.
Vantagens:
Without this program keeping track of my clients, appointments, formulas, and how long their appointments take is very important for me to schedule day by day.
Desvantagens:
I wish that the program I use on my iPad with show me if a client has confirm their appointment or not.
No visible option {10 years ago) back in time

- Tech Service interested to push us on staying "STUPID" and spend lots of $$ instead to help us solve the glitch.
- So, after such a long "partnership" we say to Salon Iris "Sayonara Boby" and move on.
To all the users that need software for their work or salon:
- Make a list of what exactly options do you need.
- Google for those options and read other users' reviews.
- Make sure you RUN a test for some time to see the + / - of the software.
- Look at the Privacy and use of that particular software.
- USE Square for your CC needs
I'm not going to make advertising for the software we are using now but definitely is NOT Salon Iris.

Cover most of the needed day by day Salon & Spa Operation tasks. 10 years ago was not much tech or alternative available options.
Desvantagens:
Because we use this software 6 days a week for some years now, I have a chance to see what's NOT SO GOOD about it, and here are some of them: - The Software core was design back more than 10 years ago. - Very rigid with no option to add/remove any extensions that you need or not. - UI interface design do not change much over the years. - Very hoggy on computer resources, sometimes was needed lots of work to communicate with other computers or printers in the same network. - Company DaySmart does not lessen to clients need - IT Attitude, I know, What's new? - The credit card run was buggy and costly. - Reports need some work and coffee to come up with some tax documentation. - Recently the final straw. The email extension work on/off creating confusion among our clients.
