Comentários: Overall my experience has been positive. Jackrabbit is expensive, but they seem to offer the most features for a complex dance school. One way or another we can find what we need through Jackrabbit

Vantagens:

What I like most about this software is the customer service. This is a robust and complex system that has evolved spectacularly over the 10+ years that I have used it. There are many features that can be confusing at first. But the customer service team is always ready to help and in a way that makes it easy to understand and replicate on my own later.

Desvantagens:

One thing that is missing is a retail feature for online sales. They have implemented a retail feature that can be done in person. But I would love to be able to sell our uniforms on our website through Jackrabbit. I would also love to see the email/communications features made more robust. It would be nice to know who is opening our emails and who is not.

The Studio Management Software you didn't know you needed

Comentários: We went from CompuDance to MindBody to Jackrabbit Dance and never looked back. It takes care of our needs, is constantly improving with time, and has amazing customer service.

Vantagens:

I love how organized Jackrabbit Dance keeps our studio. The program is designed well (both aesthetically, and functionally).

Desvantagens:

The cost is based on students both active and inactive. It would be nice to be charged only for active students. We have to move inactives to lead files, and there are times in which a student has only left for a semester. Or, if a family has one kiddo drop, then we either have to delete said student, or continue to "pay" for their information to be retained.

Jackrabbit Dance - A solid performer

Comentários: Overall, the experience is solid but frustrating based on the cons listed above.

Vantagens:

It serves our business purpose, and the support team is very prompt

Desvantagens:

The lack of international (DATE FORMAT) is very frustrating and results in many input errors when you're not in the US. The lack of an API makes it very difficult to integrate with other products we use, and the inconsistency on exporting data with key information provides a troublesome alternative. Both the UI and UX elements of the application are poor - but noting that there has been some work to start progression of this.

One of the most important tools in our studio

Comentários: We've been a Jackrabbit studio since 2011. We have enjoyed growing with the company and taking advantage of their features to help grow our studio year-after-year. They constantly work to improve their software listening to their clients to incorporate their ideas into new features.

Vantagens:

We most enjoy the online parent portal and automatic payment options. It makes collecting fees easy and seamless for our staff and families. Their online registration process through the parent portal is also clean and easy for our families.

Desvantagens:

Credit card processing fees through their third-party payment processor are high. We would also enjoy a more comprehensive and inclusive lead collection and tracking feature in the software.

Streamline your business!

Comentários: JR has been such a positive experience for my business. I can't ever imagine using any other system!

Vantagens:

I like the way you can manage all your customers as well as how easy JR is to utilize. The customer support, if you need it, is essential! JR responds so quickly with friendly caring staff. Our system has never been down in all the years we have used JR.

Desvantagens:

The only negative thing about JR is my ability to learn everything they have to offer! When I do learn something new, I always ask myself, "What was I waiting on"

Gets the Job Done!

Comentários: It helped us go from barely managing one studio, to efficiently managing 3 simultaneously.

Vantagens:

What I like most about Jackrabbit is how it allows you one database for your enrollment and registration.

Desvantagens:

What I don't like is how communication gets lost frequently when we email our clients. Spam filters often filter out emails sent from JR. We also have frequent issues with the registration page being difficult for first time customers.

Customer Service! They are usually available and so caring and helpful with any issues I may have!

Desvantagens:

I wish they could do the automatic tuition draft on their end so we don't still have to go into the system to do that each month. I would also love to have the card processing fee applied automatically each time they use their card so I do not have to take of that at the end of the year.

JackRabbit for the win!

Comentários: Overall, it has been an incredibly positive experience. I speak very highly of JackRabbit and am happy we made the change despite the stress of changing over at the most chaotic time of our year.

Vantagens:

I love the customization of JackRabbit combined with how up to date it feels. The customer service is top notch and the help functions are incredible. They are always making updates, providing helpful tutorials, communicating via emails and their facebook group. It is (pretty much) everything I wanted out of a dance studio software. I'm mad that we waited so long to make the switch.

Desvantagens:

Initially, there were some financial aspects that were a turn off. Most have proved to be pros rather than cons. The biggest dislikes that come to mind are the way bank draft declines must be monitored by hand and not being able to password protect or put restrictions on class enrollments.

Jackrabbit Dance is essential to our operations

Comentários: We have been customers since 2012, and I consider myself pretty high level in the implementation of Jackrabbit's tools at this point. I'm glad to have Jackrabbit Dance for client management for sure. Having worked in other systems, I do not believe they are as appropriately set up for class sessions. While Jackrabbit may not be the best for one-off classes, it is definitely the best for class series or sessions with multiple classes being paid for all at once (or over the course of a few months through installments).

Vantagens:

Without Jackrabbit Dance, I have no idea how we would manage our catalog of 2,000+ students. At any given time, we typically have between 250 and 500 active enrollments, and we could not manage the activity around class management, client management, and payments without Jackrabbit as a tool.

Desvantagens:

I don't love the fact that one-off classes are managed under Events rather than under Classes. It has proven to be confusing to clients, so we typically don't use Jackrabbit for those types of enrollments. I would definitely prefer to be able to use one database management tool for all of our operations.

The best as far as customization goes

Comentários: We like it, but it is a bit frustrating at times. It is definitely confusing, as well...and this comes from very tech-savvy people.

Vantagens:

I really love that Jackrabbit has so many features and so many ways to customize it. It is replacing numerous different things we used to customize and create for ourselves — attendance sheets on Google Sheets, rolls and databases on Filemaker Pro, having to manually text parents through Google Voice, emailing registered families through Gmail add-ons or Mailchimp, and registering students through a mix of Woocommerce and Eventzilla. We felt that the charge was worth it.

Desvantagens:

I do believe that functionality sort of takes precedence with this company over ease of use. So, it is very difficult sometimes to customize things exactly the way you want it. There is also NO way — in our opinion — to effectively do drop-ins, like there is with Mind-Body. Private lessons will also require us to use a 3rd party solution. I wish there as a native app, free for all of us, not additional charge. I also wish there was a way to integrate video lessons or pay-to-take-online lessons (like drop-ins, online). I think that the way you integrate this into your website is also very convoluted, and could be improved.

I am a happy and impressed customer

Comentários: Jackrabbit has made Studio Management a breeze. I was not already very familiar with the dance studio industry, so having Jackrabbit on my side to manage the day-to-day has been hugely beneficial.

Vantagens:

Their customer service is the best. I have only ever had friendly and helpful responses, and their response time is always quick. Jackrabbit was quick and easy to get up and running. The dashboards make it easy to start using right away, without having to know everything about it. In only few weeks we were of creating classes, entering students, enrolling classes. The reporting is also very deep, we are only just getting to know what all it offers.

Desvantagens:

There have been a couple of very small features that I could see might improve Jackrabbit, but again this is a way they excel. They have a comprehensive reporting and feature suggestion system so you can see what features other people have recommended and can comment and vote for the ones you like best.

Comentários: I prefer this software over others. Easy to learn, easy to use; staff and parents happy with both sides of system.

Vantagens:

All of the reports help with making our business run smoother. Client management is streamlined. Parent Portal is easily accessible.

Desvantagens:

I don't have anything that I like the least. It would be nice to mass archive and mass enroll students. Costume section needs improvement in order to actually place orders (if that's what the goal is).

Fantastic Customer Service and Ease of Use!

Vantagens:

Jackrabbit has a fantastic team that were great holding our hands as we implemented Jackrabbit from scratch! Yes, we used spreadsheets and docs to manage our dance studio prior to this roll-out! The folks at Jackrabbit have been available for any question to ensure our success along the way! Our families love the ease of us, being able to easily enroll in classes, and overall user-friendliness of the software.

Desvantagens:

We have had a lot of feedback from parents wishing that they could have a calendar with classes listed by day/hour where they could click the class to see the description and then easily enroll if interested. Some are only available on certain days and this would be far easier to see than the current "list" feature currently offered.

Multiple features and ability to handle a large amount of clientele information securely

Desvantagens:

Analytic features were lacking from the previous software used - Where clients are from to create more targeted marketing. Not being able to see easily who is missing each evening without running daily reports. Some features I do to use fully due to the report or printing layout

Could not run my studio without Jackrabbit

Vantagens:

This software was the first I tried when I opened my studio, right off the bat I saw the value of having a pretty gram that allowed for online registration, collecting fees, communicating with family/staff, selling/inventorying merchandise, managing classes, and so much more!!

Desvantagens:

I would like to see a way to track inventory of items with multiple sizes under one style number, ie, tights, shoes, leotards vs making an item for each size (Square has the option to add and track multiple sizes under one style number)

The Trials and Triumphs of bringing our Performing Arts School to the 21st Century...

Comentários: After 15 years as the sole office personnel in a small non profit that grew somehow from 3 personnel to over 45 I had to be dragged kicking and screaming to change. First, the updated Website. Ok, I can do that. Oh. You want a CART? To be able to register ON LINE? Wait...that means taking CREDIT CARDS? Are you mad? People have been writing checks for 20 years quite happily thank you. Oh...you LIKE signing your kids up in the middle of the night which is when you can get to it? You think everyone is like that? Pshh. Kids these days. Ok, FINE. Sparing you the details of my angst and how much research I did, after changing over everything for a big company that LOOKED like it would suit us...but didn't as a last ditch effort before utter despair, my boss's sister recommended JackRabbit.
I made someone else do the transition, I couldn't bear doing it twice. My problems were not lack of computer skills, my problems were that we have developed a very boutique style business and every system to handle every diverse aspect of what we do, I built from the ground up. My data base could roll over, sit up and just about any trick. Getting JR to do all that wasn't possible BUT it is ALMOST flexible enough to do everything I need which is awesome. There are still things I could do faster the old way BUT....here is what I love about JR. They listen.
ALL our businesses are totally different in the minutia but we ALL need clients, we need them to register, pay and service them. JR makes all that possible and for as many formats as possible. They are constantly adding things we ask for. I love that and it makes the pain of not being able to push a button and have all the forms I want the way I want them, bearable. I've learned to start bending around JR instead of the other way and it is a natural progression because the software is so flexible and user friendly.
Change sucks. No one likes it but if you are going to do it, do it with a company that is servicing at least 75% or more of your needs, is big enough to have the resources for R&D and small enough to be agile to implement that R&D.

Vantagens:

VERY user friendly. I'm very computer literate so it was a snap learning it but teaching it to folks NOT so literate, is easy. The BEST customer service from any company I've ever dealt with. Hands down. Constant updates, improvements and we the customers are listened to and the software changes and additions are created according to greatest need. Some of the best help documentation I've seen too. The training they offer both live and virtual is excellent.

Desvantagens:

There are features I wish it would have, like mass record updates or some more flexibility with report design but I feel like we will get those eventually. Nothing can cover every situation so just make sure if something essential is missing that you need that you have the JR folks talk you through it.

Jackrabbit Dance is imperative in running my studio

Comentários: We have benefitted immensely by using Jackrabbit over the past several years. From online registration and payments to the staff and parent portals, they have really allowed us to serve our clients better while dramatically reducing the workload for our staff.

Vantagens:

Online registration and payment collection is the reason we started using Jackrabbit originally. This continues to be the number one asset of the Jackrabbit software in our business. We have grown to use and rely on the staff portal for tracking staff hours which has been very useful. We started using Jackrabbit for attendance during COVID and have continued to do so to track attendance for illnesses and makeup classes, which again has been great.

Desvantagens:

A change that really needs to be made is the ability to send individual dancers to the lead file and leave their younger sibling(s) active. Jackrabbit fees are base on active students, but students that quit or graduate are still counted as active if they have a sibling still dancing. This is totally unfair and hasn't been addressed in all the year's I have used the syllabus. I also don't like the fact that their is no way to split the billing of fees to two parents. The software needs to reflect the changes that we have in society with multiple families and parents that need to split the costs of dancers. Last, the recital component could use an update for more detail and better reporting.

Very satisfied with Jackrabbit!

Vantagens:

Online registration, online payments and invoicing, the POS system, the extensive reports available to run, and the revenue chart comparisons. I have to say these are my favorite features. They made running my studio so easy. I was able to see at a glance everything that was happening internally, from the financial aspect to how my classes were being filled and who was behind or ahead on tuition.

Desvantagens:

Perhaps this is just me, but I feel the layout of Jackrabbit's many different features could be improved somewhat. The font (a little on the small size) and drop-downs- especially when there are many drop downs and options to choose from, such as when customizing a report- can be confusing and cause a bit of a headache. I think that some slight design changes to their appearance will be a little easier on the eyes. I understand Jackrabbit is very functional in appearance, which is fine, no need for a whole aesthetic overhaul, but sometimes the layout is a little confusing.I also found that most of my dance parents (and me too for the first year of using Jackrabbit) got confused by their statements. Perhaps a change in the statement format to more clearly differentiate what was and paid, what they owe.

JackRabbit is easy to use and assists immensely in organizing classes and students each season.

Comentários: Mass emailing to our families save us time and creating email lists. Also, being able to register dancers quickly and easily is great for saving time.

Vantagens:

We like the ease of adding students to classes as well as dropping and transferring to other classes throughout the season. Being able to email on mass is also great but we also love being able to select specifics about a group before emailing. Class creation is easy, but still detailed, and the posting of fees is simple enough. I love the Dashboard! It gives a great snapshot of the business. The email schedule feature is also fabulous.

Desvantagens:

The cost to process families credit cards through the software is outrageous! Our fees have been so high that we have been forced to stop using this feature for some of our families. Also, reports are hard to work with and from time to time fees do not post to family's accounts when they register online. It would be great to have an "add fees" button similar to the class details where we could put in a monthly fee once and then post it for multiple months by clicking one button.

After 50 years of doing everything manually, Jackrabbit brought us into the 21st century.

Comentários: Before I was involved, our company tried to set up Jackrabbit. That didn't go very well, mainly because of the time needed to learn how the system works. But, [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] was convinced that she needed to make the change, and do away with her old manual systems. When I was asked to take on this project, I did invest quite a bit of time. After I understood what I needed to do, the process went well. [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] is thrilled with the system, and glad that she made the leap. Was it easy? Not at first. Is it easy now? Absolutely.

Vantagens:

Jackrabbit simply does what it says it can do. The software is packed with features that we didn't even know we needed. Our families tell us that the parent portal is easy to understand and use, and they are grateful to have improved communication tools. When we were forced to close our studio due to COVID-19, we were impressed with the team at Jackrabbit, who quickly added virtual classroom links. While we would prefer to teach our students in person, Jackrabbit made it possible for our business to survive, and for that we're truly grateful.

Desvantagens:

Before I was brought in to implement Jackrabbit, our company struggled to make sense of the software for over a year. Be prepared for a bit of a learning curve. Take advantage of the support offered by Jackrabbit. They have a responsive team that will be happy to steer you through any challenge you might encounter. That said, be prepared to devote some time to getting your database set up properly. Your work will pay you dividends when everything is running efficiently.

Best for group class programs

Comentários: For my responsibilities, general admin stuff and costume management, Jackrabbit has been fine. I think the interface could probably be a little more user friendly, but overall I think it's a great option for studios.

Vantagens:

Jackrabbit makes managing classes pretty easy. Enrolling/withdrawing students, setting class parameters and pre-requisites, and there is like an endless amount of reports that you can pull to get basically any data set you could need.

Desvantagens:

The costume management features could definitely be improved. Editing costume pieces doesn't always update properly across all the students it's assigned to when you save, it's difficult to find a naming convention that works for orders because of limitations, and it would be really helpful to have an outseam measurement field. Student lists also aren't automatically alphabetized which ends up requiring extra steps of exporting reports into excel to resort data. For a small to medium size studio these things probably wouldn't be that big of a deal, but as a very large studio ordering 2000+ costume pieces these things can add a lot of extra work. Overall the costume management isn't awful, but for a software that is EXTREMELY customizable in like every other way, I wish it had more to offer in this aspect.

My least favorite thing is when a class is added at a different time, it doesn’t always calculate the tuition properly. There is also a glitch when trying to post tuition to a particular family, it won’t let you select the family even though it’s a choice.

Vantagens:

The ease of enrolling, invoicing and emailing, along with student and family information, I use these features all the time!

Desvantagens:

I have had trouble with the payment system over the years. I believe this lies with the banks itself, there are certain banks that the payment always comes back as rejected. This part has been super frustrating for me. Also the way you enter the bank details on the registration form is quite different to what we are used to in NZ so there is always a lot of explanation or help needed for new families to be set up correctly. I also have had complaints about the money taking so long long to come out. This can cause a few problems for some families leading to rejected reports.

Jackrabbit is the perfect management software!

Vantagens:

Jackrabbit has ALL of the features you need to understand your business. If you own a business, you don't want a platform that "makes it easy and simple." You need a platform that gives you all the tools you need to make informed business decisions; Jackrabbit does just that. Take the time to learn how to navigate Jackrabbit and understand it's features. Your business will thank you.

Some dance studio owners complain that it's too complicated. They want an interface that is simpler to understand. However, if you're running a (successful) business, you need ALL of the tools and reporting features Jackrabbit provides.
