MyRec has been a wonderful program for our department!
Comentários: Ease of use for myself and the public, lots of customization options, digital sign in and sign out creates a permanant record that can be accessed by all my instructors.
Vantagens:
The software allows for quick and easy creation of simple activities, while still allowing you to really customize activities when it is required. Our old software got so many complaints from our users. With MyRec, the most common thing that I get is that someone forgot a password. We surveyed our customers from our summer program, and on a scale of 1-5 (with 1 being the worst) MyRec got all 3-5 and not a single 1 or 2. I highly recommend the software to other departments. Customer service is top notch and has been able to answer all my questions, even if they are complicated and abstract.
Desvantagens:
While there are a lot of options to apply discounts to programs or people, there have been a few times where they way I wanted to apply a discount didn't work (ie, a discount for signing up for multiple days of a program). There have been work arounds and customer service has always been great with helping me.

Comentários: The customer service is exceptional. Any time I call, the staff are polite, patient and kind. I came from another town where they had already been using MyRec and when I started last year in Brookfield, we switched to MyRec from another platform and our department is so happy with all of the options MyRec provides. It makes our lives easier!
Vantagens:
I love how easy it is to monitor program registrations.
Desvantagens:
Users always have trouble recovering their password. We get complaints that the website is "too confusing" and not user friendly.

Better presentation of Days of the week and improved mobile expierence
Comentários: It helps us translate our marketing matierals into sales via QR codes, but we would like to see the mobile cell version be easier for people to create an account. Developing a mobile app would also be a great solution to this issue. We have received a lot of feedback about the mobile version being difficult to use for creating an account and making payments so we normally encourage people to use the mobile version as a way to view programs and that they create their account and sign up for activities using a laptop or computer. Although I like the general structure of the web pages and appreciate that other nearby recreation departments use this software—which helps with user familiarity—we would prefer a design that offers more editing flexibility, similar to a GoDaddy website.
Vantagens:
Easy to create and update program descriptions.
Desvantagens:
The way the days are shown in the activity column. Ex) MTuWThuF We think it would be a lot better if you stacked them vertically like below or Mon, Tues, Wed and then if it was 5-7 days a week just Mon-Fri or Tues-Sat Mon Tues Wed Thurs Fri

Comentários: My overall experience with MyRec.com is very good! I would recommend it to anyone.
Vantagens:
I like how I can learn to use different features easily. The help page is great! I have printed off a few things I wasn't sure how to set up.
Desvantagens:
So far just one thing, I can't figure out how to reduce the size of our logo on our pages and receipts. I wish we could use the MyRec.com Point of Sale on our iPad.

Good company with solid customer service
Comentários: Good. Not perfect for a non-traditional entity like us. MyRec is open to suggestions for improvement, which is great. And we are generally able to work around things if they can't grant our requests for edits, etc. Cost is quite affordable. *One of the questions on this survey asks for what purpose we use the site. I chose "registration" but it's really more like "other". We use MyRec for products and events.
Vantagens:
Support is easily available. Everyone we've delt with is friendly and helpful.
Desvantagens:
1) MyRec is designed for Park And Rec depts., which is fine, but it would be great if it was more user friendly for non-traditional clients like us. 2) MyRec can be a little clunky. This includes the language that they use. For example, when referring to a product, “pick-up instructions” would be a much better term than “acquisition instructions”.

Thanks for taking the time to provide a review. MyRec.com is a Parks and Recreation software, but many features are flexible to accommodate other organizations. Please call into client services if other items need to be adjusted for you, as in the products page text. This is one of the many areas that is flexible.

Vantagens:
Having the ability to have registrations, balances, contact info etc. all in one place. The ease of finding financial reports is great. Someone is always available to talk to about issues. Access to members through text and email blasts.
Desvantagens:
Some of the registration processes can be difficult for users. The one way input method for various programs. It's not always a one size fits all. I wish it was easier to edit payments.

However, we're sorry to learn about the challenges you've experienced with certain aspects of our platform. Regarding your concerns: We aim to balance requirements with user experience, and we review our processes to simplify wherever possible. Client Support is always available to make sure processes are set up the best way possible. We appreciate your feedback in reference to design and are committed to enhancing aesthetics alongside functionality. You are entitled to reach out to design for an updated public facing side. The platform does have a feature for saved cards & payment plan features- but you do have to meet some requirements. Client Support will reach out to address your concerns in more detail.

Comentários: My overall experience with MyRec.com is just awesome. I am a one-woman-operation and this system allows me to do what I do each day. If I need help, I dial the phone and get immediate assistance and a pleasant interaction.
Vantagens:
I like the ease of registration for recreation programs...soccer, basketball, piano, art-literature, lacrosse, dog obedience, etc. Events - July 4th, parade registration, concert in park...it's all right there to see. Need an email blast to everyone - send it out. Cancelling a class and need to update the cost? Easy-peasy. If I need help, I call and get 100 percent knowledgeable, pleasant, step-by-step help and feel good about learning something new.
Desvantagens:
Must confess, I can't get the photos from my phone set up correctly (and quickly) when adding a new program, but I simply call and get awesome support and usually a pleasant or inciteful conversation that propels me.

MyRec Review
Comentários: Overall, my MyRec experience has been good. The customer service is phenomenal and are always able to fix my issues.
Vantagens:
I like the ability to create a variety of different program types and the ability to set specific details for each activity.
Desvantagens:
I find the finance tab difficult to navigate and to understand past payments. If a refund is issued, it is posted to the original invoice instead of a separate line item.

Hampden Parks and Recreation Review
Comentários: I would give it a 9/10. There could be some improvements made in the cart and with UniPay compatibility. I do think that duplicating programs could also use some improvement, but overall, the site is user friendly.
Vantagens:
The ease of use, especially for registering people for programs. It is also very easy to generate reports for financial and participation records.
Desvantagens:
Users tend to have issues with UniPay. UniPay's compatibility with MyRec could be better. Also, the ability to have diversified pricing for rental facilities would be a nice addition.

Vantagens:
The ease of the software if wonderful, it is very user friendly for staff as well as the public. We were previously not able to refund directly back to cards, this has been a wonderful feature as well as monthly auto billing for our gymnastics team. We are able to set up programs that can be reserved for a specific time, and sports activities that can be set up to create a schedule. All introduced and explained by MyRec's wonderful staff. They have always been available to assist us in set up, and to troubleshoot any issues we have encountered.
Desvantagens:
It is currently in the development process, however there are a few features not offered to the standard user we would like to see. Such as, allowing for an inquiry only option to view activities for information only. Such as description of class, and to check times, price and availability. Currently you require staff to be listed at least as a manager to receive this option. In that case however they are able to change the program and we are concerned that staff may do so by mistake.

User Friendly and Support Team is Fantastic!!
Comentários: The MyRec.com staff is extremely responsive and always a phone call or email away when we need to troubleshoot a problem or ask a question. When we initially set up our software system they did all the leg work for us and took all of our program information and inputted it into the website for us, making it a seamless transition.
Vantagens:
Provides a user friendly interface for our customers. Program registration is very easy to utilize whether setting up for a one time program or advanced activities such as sports or camps. I also love that we can input our registration forms online through the custom forms feature, and cut down on paperwork in the office.
Desvantagens:
There are very few things I don't like about this software. The staff is always looking for feedback on how they can improve the software to better serve their clients and their communities.

Easy of use, great price, amazing customer service and functionality.
Desvantagens:
So far not much, there are some financial reporting we would like to see, and fixes around waitlist notifications, but most everything we need is in MyRec.

MyRec is perfect for what we need
Comentários: Before MyRec, I was a one person recreation department that used paper forms for registrations and triplicate forms for rentals. We had a paper calendar and a HUGE binder for each of our rental facilities. I needed a cart to transport them. People would call in to the office multiple times for one rental. With MyRec, they can answer most of their questions online. The amount of phone calls has dropped which frees up time for other planning/programming. Getting MyRec was like adding a staff position.
Vantagens:
MyRec offered the features that we needed. The system is easy to use and update. MyRec's staff is always available to help when we get stuck - but they also have a great help section with videos and step by step instructions.
Desvantagens:
Some of our residents have a bit of a learning curve with getting their account set up. Once they figure it out, then there seems to be less calls to us for help.

Town of Bedford Parks & Recreation Department review
Comentários: Enjoy working with MyRec and all the customer support we have had over the years. When we got this software it was 2005 and we were going from a pen/paper registration session to allowing the customer to be self sufficient with ease to register for programming. I also like how our community events such as "Summer Concerts in the Park" can be updated when a new date is added for members to view or other community events for example "Memorial Day Parade".
Vantagens:
Participants open their own accounts and can register for programs on their own. Ease of printing out a roster of participants for an instructor.
Desvantagens:
Any difficulties I have had usually were user (me) error and your Customer Service always helped me out.

Comentários: I enjoy using the MyRec software. It is a great tool for recreation departments. I highly recommend it to anyone in the field.
Vantagens:
Easy to use, eliminates hours of record keeping/filing, and paperwork. The system is customizable. Customer support is top notch. They are constantly updating and improving the software using feedback and ideas from the departments that use the software. If there is a function that you need and is not available, they will try to add that function in. If there is a question that the representative doesn't know the answer to, he/she will look into it or test it out and get back right away.
Desvantagens:
Sometimes updates happen and I don't know about them. MyRec always sends updates out though so it is just a matter of looking it up or giving them a call. Sometimes there is an option that I think does one thing but does another. Their customer support team is always willing to help whether it is a complicated matter or a simple one.

MyRec gives the best Recreation Software bang for your buck!
Comentários: MyRec is a great software product and their customer service is excellent. We know their staff by name. They are always immediately available and have talked us through every question. More than once I have called to say, "I'm stuck and don't even know quite how to put this into words..." and they have figured out where I had trouble and helped me find solutions.
Vantagens:
We carefully considered four products before choosing MyRec, which was the least expensive option. We chose well! MyRec can handle just about everything we need. In the six or seven years we have used it, there have only been one or two times when an issue came up where they did not have a solution. The software is intuitive and very easy to use from Day One, and their excellent customer service helps us immediately whenever we have a question. The other recreation software products we had considered might have had a few more bells and whistles, but truly MyRec has been able to offer everything we really need and we have saved a ton of money over the other products.
Desvantagens:
I was looking for a particular financial report a few months ago and they were not able to provide the data I was seeking. Only a couple of times has this happened in the six or seven years we have been using MyRec.

Comentários: Staff and customers really like the ease of use and all the features of MyRec. We were able to simplify disbursement of information and cut expenses at the same time. Thanks MyRec for all these amazing features like text message/email alerts, newsletter distribution, family calendars and more.
Vantagens:
The product is very easy to use. The ? help and the ability to call if/when an issue may occur= 100% resolution every time. I love having a picture posted for every program, ability to create custom forms, and all the different options for shelter rentals is amazing.
Desvantagens:
When looking at the facility calendar and then going back- it takes you to the current month rather than the month you were looking at. Ex- if I am looking at the October calendar but switch facilities- it will take me back to the current month. When I plan things out 6 months in advance- this is slight inconvenience. A hovering dialog box would be great on the calendar too. When look at a reservation- just being able to hover over it on the admin side to see the details rather than opening and closing the reservation.

And we love Fairborn! Thanks for the stellar and thorough review. We understand where you're coming from regarding the calendar. Unfortunately, the widget we use is unable to hold the previous state when it refreshes. We may be able to look into upgrading this calendar or using a different one in a future full iteration of the system. Regarding having a hover state though, that may be something we can accomplish more quickly and we appreciate the suggestion. Please give us a call to go over the details so we can get that request in.
Director's review of MyRec
Comentários: I have been involved with My Rec in two communities and have found it to be so relevent to the work that we do here. As MyRec has grown, I have noted that sometimes newer customer support people have not had answers as quickly, and may need to call back with a solution.
Vantagens:
The reports it generates, the ease of learning the basics of it for any staff person has been a key selling point. Many of the functions are very intuitive and I really appreciate the types of reports it will generate.
Desvantagens:
Very minimal - often when we have asked for upgrades or improvements, the MyRec staff have accommodated us. We would like to be able to send out emails to residents only, and we don't believe that to be a current option. For the reasons we need to use it, there seems to be a way to make it functional over-all.

MyRec Review
Comentários: So easy to get to reports needed for presentations, or to have a call with someone to help me navigate to get that report. Any time I've needed help, I have typically been directed to where I need to go with relative ease and patience -- because sometimes I have the same question multiple times or annually!
Vantagens:
By far, the most user friendly software I have used. I have been with other towns and companies and the software has been difficult to navigate, tough on the consumer and often was frustrating. The MyRec software was easy to get setup, easy to navigate and was and is extremely easy for our customers to use and navigate.
Desvantagens:
Probably the only thing right now would be the ability to make doing large batch refunds easier. This only popped up because of COVID-19, but the ability to do refunds for an entire class at once vs. doing them individually would be ideal. I have some programs with 60-100 participants and doing individual refunds is time consuming. Other than that, no major complaints.

Glad you and your customers are navigating with ease! Thank you so much for the feedback. We do have a batch refund to issue account credits, but it's too advanced to have multiple types of refunds happening on that many invoices at one time. Hopefully this is an isolated situation.

Comentários: Overall, we are happy we switched over as some of the features are very beneficial and time saving for us.
Vantagens:
The help center has been amazing answering some of the questions we have has as we get used to the program. I like the ease of the step by step instruction of setting things up. Long run, I think this software will be very useful to our department.
Desvantagens:
I do feel that some financial reports are not accurate and have some confusion about said numbers.
