Fantastic for an educational environment!
Comentários: The staff was very helpful and easy to reach when we were working out our payment process (working for a state institution created a unique situation regarding invoicing). I was very happy with how they helped me.
Vantagens:
I manage the equine program for a state university and am responsible for over 60 horses and a revolving door of student employees. SS is a lifesaver for keeping track of everyone in the herd and making sure no one gets forgotten! The email reminders are a fantastic tool to help me keep track with my busy schedule, and the software works wonderfully for collaboration between myself and my employees. The interface is also very user friendly. I was able to learn the program very quickly when I took over the program.
Desvantagens:
It would be REALLY nice if you could create an event such as farrier or vaccination, and add from the list of horses. It's somewhat time consuming to have to adjust each horse individually if you need to adjust the recurring time period or anything. Also, it's not really a big con for me, but if there was anything else I could suggest I would say the user interface could perhaps be a little more visually appealing - modern applications and programs are just so advanced these days that this program appears somewhat basic and bland at first impression in comparison.

Comentários: I am SOOO glad we found Stable Secretary!! I actually look forward to updating our animal records now and unlike other system platforms we have historically used, Stable Secretary provides a user friendly interface to record, update and pull animal info as needed. THANK YOU!!!!
Vantagens:
Ease of use and functionality of app. Pleasing to look at on desktop and the app, photo capabilities on animal profile for easing recognition in large herds, quick reference sheet on animals, ease of pulling and entering animal stats and the tags for searching/saving groups... literally sooo many pros
Desvantagens:
That I didn't find it sooner!! The only thing that this app doesn't do YET (hopeful thinking) is provide the ability to auto connect our animals thermo chip reader scans into their health records. That would be the cherry on the top for me!!

Comentários: I think it can be a great product but the price is too high. If the price was about half of regular price would be better.
Vantagens:
I really like that it has a picture for each horse.
Desvantagens:
The picture doesn’t enlarge when you click on it anymore. Need a summer and winter pictures on the front page.

Hi Jim, Thank you very much for writing us a review! We do love feedback. UPDATE Aug 2019: we have added the ability to expand the horse photo. We will make it a priority to put back the ability to enlarge the horse photos. You can currently upload many pictures of the horse in the Uploads section online, and then access them (and enlarge) from the mobile app - in the Horse's Uploads tab. We do plan to implement the ability to have multiple horse profile pics at some point, that the user could easily scroll through to ID a horse, but I don't see that happening for another 6 months or so. I wish we could give our sw away for free, but we are committed to continuing to develop it to be stronger and better for our users, and that costs money. We still put almost all of our revenue right back into our product to benefit our users!

Comentários: bugs get fixed and the updates are great as it becomes a better well oiled machine

I love how keeping track of herd health is so detailed and also how I can keep a lesson schedule in the calendar and that I can do all of my invoices most importantly

I would have to say out of all of the wonderful features the thing I like the most is that the product is continually being updated in the past year. There have been so many wonderful changes and updates.

Comentários: Customer service is wonderful and so helpful! Love the company and the product.
Vantagens:
I recommend this to every, especially people with more than one horse. It makes a world of difference trying to keep track of multiple horses care and training. I also liked being able to upload related documents (coggins, vaccination records).
Desvantagens:
The jump in price between 3 horses ($2.32 per horse), 6 horses ($4.99 per horse), 15 horses ($2.66 per horse) and 30 horses ($1.67 per horse). Pro is $6.95 for 3 horses and $29.95 for 6 horses. It would be cheaper to just get 2 x 3 horse memberships. Then is only $10 more and you go from 6 horses to 15 horses. It just does not really make sense.

Also, have you had a chance to look at the Checklist on the mobile app? It's new, we added it within the year, and it lets you make a checklist (new items or imported from schedule or another day's checklist) that all team members can see and can sort and check off items! Comentários: So far it’s been great. I can track multiple horses at a multiple locations.
Vantagens:
I like the different levels of service and the number of horses you can enter. Once I got use to the program is much easier to navigate.
Desvantagens:
Not really a way to link to your bank account that I have found without going to the most expensive level. Also, the mobile app is not as user friendly as I would have hoped.

Comentários: We have been using Stable Secretary since 2013 and love how it continues to grow with changing needs of users. We recommend it to all our fellow trainers.
Vantagens:
I like having the reminders in an email. The ongoing updates. The new social media has been great.
Desvantagens:
I miss the reminders on the side of the home screen. Trying to keep up with new updated screens. It has its pros and cons.

Long time user recommends
Comentários: Our hunter/jumper barn (33) horses uses mostly the financial capabilities including recording all services, invoices, payments and reporting in all of these. We’ve used Stable Secretary for several years.
Vantagens:
Customer Support! Willingness to take enhancement requests seriously.
Desvantagens:
There have been some missing pieces for the Financial sections but these have been mostly resolved through software updates.

Great barn management software

The Only Practical Software for Barn Management
Comentários: Absolutely wonderful! Stable Secretary is responsive and has a great product! I wouldn't want to operate a barn without it!
Vantagens:
It is a practical way to run a barn with multiple areas of operations (rehab, boarding, breeding, etc). We are thrilled with it. Stable Secretary is always quick to respond with support and also have implemented ideas that we have asked when updating their software.
Desvantagens:
I can't edit an invoice once sent, but Stable Secretary will reset it quickly upon request.

Must have for barn managers
Comentários: Excellent ! Customer service is also great . They are knowledgeable and quick to respond. Ss is the only way i can stay organized as a barn manager

Game Changing Software
Comentários: It has been a game changer as an industry professional that has both personal horses, horses owned by an educational institution, and horses leased to my job by private owners in my care! It helps keep things in line when it’s hard to otherwise.
Vantagens:
The ease of record keeping and the ability to add multiple horses from different farms.

Vantagens:
Easy to use interface. Everything is easy to find.
Desvantagens:
That I couldn’t remove all my horses from 1 location to a different one without having to delete the location. We keep our horses in 4 different locations and the all move to one for winter. Also if a horse was do for ferrier and didn’t get done they should move to the next date any horses are due.

Comentários: I like it. Best organization method for me. Lays out everything nicely. Friendly user interface. Graphically pleasing. Keeps me on top of my schedule.
Vantagens:
I like how I can organize and keep track if every aspect of my schedules. Interactions with my team members, my own responsibilities, and management for the horses.
Desvantagens:
I had difficulty adapting to the phone and laptop versions. I can edit aspects of the schedule on my phone but not on the laptop.

A barn managers best friend
Comentários: It’s been very helpful in adding consistency to our barn.
Vantagens:
That it’s designed for horse people and my assistants can all access the same information.
Desvantagens:
The data will get double entered at times because the software doesn’t refresh on the other users sides until you log out.

We recently released version 3.35.0 of the mobile app which had a significant change in the background which greatly improved the auto-syncing of data on the app. Perhaps you will notice a difference that everything gets synced faster, and without having to pull down on any of the lists of Horses, Feed, etc. If you see a problem with data not syncing, please let us know at [email protected] or 617.564.1241 so that we can address the problem and fix it for you. The different levels based on what you need and it is so handy when calling the vet, farrier, reminders for ordering meds, etc. Fantastic value and very professionally done- entry level or upgrade as you grow your "herd" or information you need at your fingertips on your phone!

Nothing- I love it and upgrades come out that I didn't even think of :)

Comentários: Excellent! It really helps me organize my management of each horse. I love I can look a horse up easily to check on a record.
Vantagens:
I love that I can stay organized on each horse's health care, while the vet/farrier/body worker/dentist is at the barn, from my phone with an easy app! Really helps me stay on top of things!
Desvantagens:
I get logged out a lot on the phone app, and that's annoying. I wish I could just stay logged in all the time so it's easier !

I suspect that process is for security, but I will check with our mobile team to see what we can do to improve that for you. Also, you can set up a biometrics login if that helps. With that, you can get logged in faster with a thumbprint. Anyway, I will check about the logout frequency, and will report back! Great Software for Any Size Barn
Comentários: Excellent, hats off to their customer service! Anytime I have had questions or issues they are very responsive via email and ready to aid or answer any questions- I have been a user for the last 3+ years and have never had a negative experience with customer service!
Vantagens:
Easy to use software! Really aimed to tailor any equine facility needs! Regularly adding in updates and receptive to feedback, great customer service for troubleshooting!
Desvantagens:
I feel like the repro section can be revamped, as a vet tech and breeder there can be changes made to easier handle breeding cases from i putting scans to adding in pregnancy records that would auto generate things once a mare is confirmed in foal.
