Good product

Vantagens:

The product is easy to use and the amount of data at your finger tips is great!

Desvantagens:

At times the product can be buggy. It froze a couple of times but was still worth the money.

Ecanvasser has been an incredibly useful tool for running campaigns effectively and efficiently.

Vantagens:

Ecanvasser gives you powerful visuals of your voter universe, always ensuring that at any moment, you know exactly how you are doing and how much work you have left to do. Planning campaigns has never been easy because Ecanvasser puts all of the data points you need right at your fingertips.

Desvantagens:

I wish there was a better way of keeping campaign information cycle to cycle and some more useful export options. Information from previously completed campaigns can be extremely valuable and could be better incorporated into the software.

Key functionalities for campaigns are missing

Comentários: I only use ECanvasser because of the data modeling that comes with more expensive services like i360, Voter Gravity, etc. However, I know a number of consultants that absolutely hate ECanvasser, too, and just feel stuck with it. I haven't found a suitable replacement yet, but when I do, I'll never use ECanvasser again unless significant changes are made.

Vantagens:

It's web-based, and the the app is fairly useful for canvassers in the field. The thing I like the most is that it sells the service of data storage and manipulation; it does not sell me datasets that are being statistically modeled by people I don't know.

Desvantagens:

The thing I absolutely, completely, utterly hate is data appending and voter matching. Nearly every other software I've used allows me to append data to voter records matching through VoterIDs, which are unique identifiers for voters and suitable for purposes of appending. It adds hours to data matching and outputs, especially for GOTV purposes. It's just simply ridiculous that cannot be done. I've asked, and the question has just been blown off. The customer support is also horrible. My database and app functionality went down on a weekend before election day once. It took me two days to hear back from someone because of the "weekend." They're selling political software, but it's more like they could care less about the value that political software provides to political campaigns. They approach customer service like software engineers, and it's horrible.

Excellent Product and Support

Vantagens:

This has made it so easy for us to track and get value from our canvassing efforts. It's been easy to train end users on how to use the app, even if they aren't really tech savvy. There have been great strides forward in stability and speed, and the customer service is top notch.

Desvantagens:

The interface could be a bit more intuitive, but generally it's easy to use. Getting your data set up exactly as you want it can take a little time, but once you do, it's smooth sailing.

Good for selct usage, may not cover all campaign needs

Comentários: I used it for a basic field campaign in a situation where VAN wasn't available. It served a limited purpose for sending out canvass teams, but overall there was too much difficulty keeping the data in Ecanvasser in sync with other data coming in from other sources. As things got busier, it ended up being less work to use paper lists and do manual entry into another system than it was to keep the program updated.

Vantagens:

It was a pretty easy initial setup, getting lists loaded and assigning turfs to canvassers. The staff is very responsive as well, I always got quick answers from them whenever I reached out.

Desvantagens:

It does the job as a mobile canvassing device, but that's very rarely the only database function occurring on a campaign. It isn't set up for easy desktop list management, manual data entry, custom list exports, etc., and as such is limited in usefulness. It does what it says it will, but at this point can't really be used as a primary database for a full scale campaign. It needs some changes to its desktop functionality, or an easy interface with another program that adds that capacity. Right now it's only useful for one piece, which you can't really connect to everything else in a campaign that relies on an adaptive database.

Great for Campaigns

Comentários: I have had great experience with Ecanvasser so far.

Vantagens:

The ease of use on the back end of thee software is amazing! I have used Ecanvasser on a few campaigns now and the data manipulation is fantastic.

Desvantagens:

The biggest problem I have is with the groups and maps. Neither works together well. I would like to see when I put a group together and click on the map that it only shows that group and not everything assigned to me or another canvasser.

Great if added more functions

Vantagens:

The basic functionality was fine- straight forward to learn.

Desvantagens:

It was frustrating that there was no "moved" option- our team had to add this to the notes and manually deal with that data. We would have also liked to have the reports come out in a way that allowed us to sort multiple survey response answers. It also would have made it easier if the maps view showed only houses/ people on that canvasser's individual turf, rather than all houses/ people. It was also difficult having a limit to the number of turfs we could draw/ the price going up for adding more canvassers to the system.

User Friendly

Comentários: Using e canvasser during the Alberta election and have had no real issues that haven't been able to be address quickly.

Vantagens:

Ease of use when on the doors. Easily navigate to where you need to be. Extremely user friendly. When you send the team at ecanvasser an issue it is resolved in a timely matter

Desvantagens:

Not having the ability to go back in and edit once something is saved

A great, straight forward approach to canvassing

Comentários: I think it works well, it’s efficient and intuitive. Sometimes the screen freezes, and the houses have disappeared and the. Reappeared causing me to backtrack. Other than those glitches it’s a good app.

Vantagens:

I like the ease of use, it’s very intuitive.

Desvantagens:

I don’t like that you can’t see the results of your canvassing from the phone app, you have to go online. After a night of canvassing, I’d like to be able to see which houses want lawn signs from my phone. We’ve had to physically write down those addresses in order to drop them off that night. Also, I’d like to see how many houses I knocked on at the end of the night from my phone app. I wish the results were available without having to go online.

Overall, we had a good experience.

Vantagens:

The ease of use of the map features and the integration with the Nation Builder platform were the best features of the Ecanvasser software.

Desvantagens:

It would bump us off or close us out once in a while. Other than that, there were not many problems. It was very helpful.

Good foundation, needs more development

Comentários: Overall, our experience with Ecanvasser was not the best. In the future, we'd probably look for another option before reconsidering this platform.

Vantagens:

Ecanvasser has a good start. The platform has some good solid foundations.

Desvantagens:

Still needs a lot more work to fix all the bugs, trip ups, glitches, and crashes.

Ecanvasser is Great

Comentários: Customer service has been amazing as well as the learning center.

Vantagens:

The ease of use for my team is unlike any other software that we have used in the past. Adding and matching voters and addresses is also very easy.

Desvantagens:

Certain signup process aspects are frustrating but once you get the hang of it becomse less noticeable.

Solid product

Vantagens:

Very useful for a local campaign, especially when you have an existing data source

Desvantagens:

App occasionally crashes, but support is good. Would like to be able to more easily do bulk updates / data import

ECanvasser may be the best I've found, but there's room for improvement

Comentários: Y'all have a great app. The customer support team (in particular) is excellent. Even all the way here in the States I felt my campaigns got the attention they needed. You should think about integrating phone-banking, would basically conquer the world.

Vantagens:

Ease of use. Simple for anyone to download the app and get going. Many different ways to cut turf (or not) and organize walks.

Desvantagens:

Billing is difficult. As a consultant, I wish I could charge multiple accounts on multiple different cards, rather than having to set different owners for every account. Additionally, there are some kinks that need to be worked out regarding canvasses at the household or individual level. Regardless of where the data goes, it shouldn't affect functionality of the backend as much as it does.

A useful tool that doesn't quite fit

Comentários: The platform is uncluttered and easy to use. Much of its functionality however is rather clunky. If your number one priority is creating walking lists quickly and easily ecanvasser performs great, though the files it exports won't us your nomenclature, which is annoying. If sorting the results is your focus, prepare to do most of that yourself, ecanvasser doesn't currently have that functionality.

Vantagens:

The mapping feature is great. It is super easy to use and delivers a walking list in spreadsheet form. My only complaint here is that once saved it cannot be edited.

Desvantagens:

Overall the platform is not very intuitive, things you would expect to be able to do you cannot. Among these are non-sortable files and file names that don't include key information.

Perfect product, perfect price point

Comentários: Ecanvasser is always extremely responsive and their team is great at what they do.

Vantagens:

This software is very easy for my clients to learn and easy for me to administrate on the back end. Plus, you can't beat the competitive pricing compared to other industry-leading products.

Desvantagens:

The software lacks the ability to color-code households, which would be helpful in many cases.

Review for Ecanvasser app

Vantagens:

The software is easy to use, as a campaign manager i was able to follow the volunteers for the project, the assistance was amazing : i had a quick response for every question i asked

Desvantagens:

The app Go Ecanvasser had too much bug and didn't work for old phones which made the work hard and complicated for our volunteers and campaign staffer.

App has limited features

Comentários: The limited functionality of the app means we've ended up using it minimally because we need our canvassers to use their phones when canvassing

Very easy to organize teams on the site and send out invites

Desvantagens:

Very limited functionality on the app; no way to access surveys on the app; app crashes/freezes often

Ecanvasser assessment

Comentários: So far it has been extremely helpful and the support team is extremely helpful.

Vantagens:

The ability to canvass with ease. It made it faster and more accessible with the technology ecanvasser provides.

Desvantagens:

I wish there was a functionality to select all members of a household at once and allow them to have the same support rating instead of selecting each individual separately.

Vantagens:

It's listed functionality indicated that this was a good solution for our needs.

Desvantagens:

It was too hard for the people on the campaign to learn to use.

Very helpful product.

Comentários: Found it very easy to move data into eCanvasser. The mapping was invaluable as we went door to door. If I was going to recommend anything, I'd try to make sure all core features are on all platforms.

Vantagens:

The best thing about the product has to be the mapping ability to divide the voter list into regions, and log voters responses to questions.

Desvantagens:

In the end we were not able to use all features due to some inconsistencies (in the 2017 version) between Android, IOS and Web versions. This unfortunately created some distrust from members of the campaign to use it the way it was intended as it was hard for one person to teach the next person how to use it when they had different phones.

ECanvasser Review

Vantagens:

I enjoyed the functionality of the software. The software helped in keeping track of houses and constituents met with and still to meet and tracked responses consistently.

Desvantagens:

Frequent crashes and glitches. Software compatibility with my iPad. Duplicates and errors in data.

Short use

Comentários: It worked well in getting door information to people so that a follow up could happen at a later date.

Vantagens:

This was good at seeing where we need to go in the neighborhood and what was already completed. Helped communicate between users.

Desvantagens:

The iPhone version was very buggy and did not work very well in getting what was assigned in the program.
