Highly Recommend Crowdin for Translation Work

Comentários: I highly recommend Crowdin for translation work. I have already recommended it to friends who are using it for their projects. Of all the translation tools I have used, it is my favorite.

Vantagens:

Crowdin is a fantastic platform that has made the translation process incredibly smooth. It's super easy to use, even for beginners, with a user-friendly interface that anyone can navigate. The website loads quickly, which is a huge plus when managing large projects. The machine translation feature provides helpful context based on work you have already done. Plus, the glossary feature ensures consistency across all translations, maintaining our high-quality standards.

Desvantagens:

The overall project management on Crowdin could use some improvement. The dashboard process, in particular, needs refining. It would be great to have more intuitive and easy-to-understand dashboards that clearly show the amount of work completed over time. This enhancement would make tracking progress much more efficient and user-friendly.

Versatile tool that accommodates to your needs

Comentários: Starting off as a translator, the Editor is very easy to use. Once I went about localising my own projects, I started using Crowdin without any doubts and this sped up the process significantly. The support team is amazing and the product is very versatile.

Vantagens:

When starting off with localising my projects, the support team reached out to see if they could accommodate to my needs. Some of my projects are open sourced, and Crowdin has special resources for projects like this. Everything was disclosed and handled very clearly, and there were no (unpleasant) surprises. I even managed to move a project to Crowdin Enterprise relatively easily once the project became too large to manage on Crowdin.com.

Desvantagens:

It is sometimes a bit annoying that Crowdin Enterprise and Crowdin.com are each restricted and confusing to use in their own way. Crowdin Enterprise is not very friendly for translators. Crowdin.com doesn't offer all the management tools you'd like. It would be better if the two products fused together into one great product.

Razões para mudar para o Crowdin: It was the most versatile and it offered special accommodations for small open source projects on one side and huge closed source projects on the other side.

Lacking Crucial Features

Vantagens:

The interface is well designed and the task feature is extremely time saving.

Desvantagens:

Why are TM matches vs string history vs MT suggestions in the same spot and not easily distinguished? It makes translation difficult for all parties. From an LSP partner perspective, it does not make sense to use CrowdIn. The security access controls are not present. So unless your organization is purely crowd-sourcing, the ability to comply with ISO and other standards is near impossible. But also the key concept of having multiple linguists work on a project at the same time without the ability to cross over into each other's content is missing.

Great localization product

Vantagens:

Crowdin has been a huge help for our localization projects. Our Localization manager and all translaters are using this tool on daily basis with ease and without any complaints. The user experience is great as well as the customer experience . The implementation of the tool was a breeze and I can recommend this tool to everyone.

Desvantagens:

I am happy to note that nothing comes to mind at the moment to dislike about Crowdin.

Best in class for crowd translations!

Comentários: Crowdin is a high quality product with many good and helpful features. We used it in a former project as crowd translation tool for our app and it worked very well. At the moment our main project only has very basic requirements and we don't need many features anymore.

Vantagens:

1. It's easy to invite colleagues, customers and professional translaters to translate content. 2. Using the crowdin cli tool to upload and update translations in our code base. 3. Create branches which reflect code branches.

Desvantagens:

Over the years and the additional features crowdin got more and more expensive although we have a very basic workflow: 1 private translator, just translation of every string in 1-2 languages, upload and download per cli tool. Currently we are thinking about not using Crowdin anymore - although we like Crowdin very much.

A complete service for your app

Comentários: I really enjoy working with it so far and I have only a few complains

Vantagens:

Crowdin was simple to setup, the UI is very simple and it has a lot of feature. Support always been here via chat when I needed some help. There are a few issue sometimes but overall it's a very complete, robust and useful tool for i18n in our web app

Desvantagens:

It is a bit hard to understand some complex flow and correct implementation with Crowdin. Like it would be very helpful to have some better documentation and explanation of the flow suggested by crowdin.

Comentários: In general, I like it and planning to continue using it.

Vantagens:

UI for managing projects and perform translations/proofreading is very good. Activity section is also very useful.

Desvantagens:

As of purchasing translation UI - it's not always intuitive and can be improved.

Cost efficient product

Comentários: The overall experience with Crowdin is good.

Vantagens:

Crowdin provides the most capabilities on the market while being a very reasonably priced SaaS.

Desvantagens:

Many apps are of low quality and constantly have issues, customer support is helpful, however is not going over the board to solve the issue. Developer seats should not be priced as manager seats.

One of the best translation tools

Comentários: I'm translator of an open-source project and I also propose, implement and use this tool in multiple companies I work for.

Vantagens:

All my translators can work with this tool without asking many questions. Support for many formats.

Desvantagens:

Sometimes slower UI for larger projects.

Localization God!

Vantagens:

I love the ease of use, as well as the user interface.

Desvantagens:

There isn't much I dislike about crowdin.

Vantagens:

Ease of use. Can be "branded". API, upon release of the site we can just upload files to Crowdin, and fetch the latest translations.

Desvantagens:

The pricing is actually expensive for us. And yet we still have a plan that hasn't existed for years. We have community translators that translates for free. But it's not even a hundred strings per year. And for that, the price is quite expensive.

Crowdin is probably the best service for product localisation

Comentários: I have worked with Crowdin from several angles, both as a translator and as a project administrator.

Vantagens:

For me, Crowdin is the most convenient service for product localization. I have never needed any more functionality, everything I needed for my work is already available in this service.

I like everything about this product. I don't have any comments.

Vantagens:

User friendly interface, easy to launch and start working on the project. Regular research and development in the field of AI and machine translation.

Desvantagens:

Crowdin releases a lot of new features, but sometimes it feels like these functions are not fully ready. From time to time there are bugs and problems in the basic functionality (TM, glossaries, document import)

Crowdin really helps internationalizing apps

Comentários: Overall, I'm very satisfied. Not only am I using Crowdin on my personal projects, but also professionally with my main employer. I've been recommending it to everybody I know.

Vantagens:

Before tools like Crowdin were on the market, our engineering team had to spend precious time and resources developing bespoke solutions in order to facilitate the process for our human translators. These are often not tech-savvy enough and thus we would require to abstract the implementation details ourselves. Now, we can setup the integration and leverage Crowdin to actually perform translations in a seamless way.

Desvantagens:

The setup process could probably be improved, but once it's done it's smooth sailing. Some concepts are not clear from the get-go and the documentation is not as useful.

Translation with Crowdin

Vantagens:

Crowdin provides enough instruments for translation such as searching/filtering, comparing different languages, machine translation, translation database, description section for concepts. Moreover, it is so easy to use these features. I was able to adapt myself even on first use.

Desvantagens:

As I emphasized previously, spell checking feature is not enough for translation activity. Developing of the spell checking for all languages -if it is possible- could be helpful for translators and editors.

Makes app localisation much easier

Comentários: We update our translations a few times per years. Having to pay an expensive subscription just to keep our translations on the server is not very exciting.
Except for this, is a great product.

Vantagens:

It is supported by a large community, it has a intuitive UI and tools to integrate the workflow with github.

Desvantagens:

The pricing for organizations is pretty high, it can be unreasonably expensive for small companies.

Perfect tool to work on multilingual contents

Comentários: You can work concurrently. This is one of the most significant needs; undoubtedly, Crowdin is at its best. The software can be translated located at a time. It does gives the completion status and you don't need followups.

Vantagens:

I can list many. The best part is Auto suggestions from the previous content or from other sources. You don't have to translate the repetitive words or sentences again. It will suggest the right words accordingly. And it checks grammatical mistakes even in secondary languages like Tamil from India.

Desvantagens:

Nothing big on the downside. The search function could have been better, and the web page is dull. Please include some interactive and vibrant colors. Navigating to a previous page could have been better/

One of the most efficient translation tool

Comentários: I'm pretty happy with Crowdin. Although the free plan is a bit limited, the platform is well-thought-out and works very well. It allows you to be efficient without too much configuration, whether you're an individual or a large company.

Vantagens:

An efficient, community-friendly tool that allows any team to get helped to translate any projects. The UI is great and efficient !

Desvantagens:

The cost might be high, and the free plan is very limited. Some documentation is missing on some points, such as integrations

Comentários: The overall experience all these years as user and contributor to many different translation projects has been great. I haven't used the Crowdin platform professionally but I'm sure it will be great from what I've seen. I'm sure that if there is a need for translating a software project this will be my number one choice. All this coming from someone who isn't native English speaking (I'm Greek).

Vantagens:

The ease of use, the suggested translations, the integrated discussion per project, the easy navigation and most of all the lightweight web interface.

Desvantagens:

That it doesn't yet support that many languages for the User Interface. It currently has 19 languages and I hope it supports more in the neat future.

The spell check feature is amazing. As a translator I sometimes get corrected in things I didn't even have a grammatical clue.

Desvantagens:

The interface is kind of overwhelming with all the available tools everywhere but it's a matter of time to get used to it.

Amazing Customer Support

Vantagens:

The customer support is amazing and the product team always listens to the product improvement feedback. They already implemented some of our feature based suggestions.

Desvantagens:

Some limitations related to the task creations and glossary.

Incredibly versatile, always ready to go

Vantagens:

Crowdin is, by far, my favorite CAT platform. It's fast, reliable and it still amazes me how well it adapts from a 27 inch screen PC with a wired Internet connection to a smartphone using a data plan when riding a train. It just works.

Desvantagens:

The one feature I would like to see is user-controlled auto propagation for repeated strings. I still have to do it manually, and it can take quite some time depending on the project.

A good product to get both CES and CSAT

Vantagens:

Easy to set up new flows, as we evaluate several processes separately and start it based on events, it is very important for us that we don't spend too much time implementing the evaluation of the new processes using CES.

Desvantagens:

Not many. Sometimes could be easier to understand some configurations, but when you have learned it, it works.
