Vantagens:

Great customer support and on-boarding. Easy to refresh integrations. Easy to use, excel-based formulas.

Desvantagens:

Unable to manage extremely large amounts of data and perform complex calculations.

Fantastic and Flexible Reporting Software

Comentários: Our setup and integration was extremely easy and fast. I was the dedicated builder and PM for the implementation for a 200+ store retails company and we were able to sync, validate and build out of data in just under 7 weeks. We've only had a few system hiccups along the way that Datarails has fixed or addressed with reasonably speed. We've been very happy with the decision to work with Datarails and foresee that that feeling will remain for a long time to come.

Vantagens:

Datarails' direct integration with Excel has allowed our team to pick up using the system very quickly. It gives us the flexibility of Excel without having to worry about massive data tables or SQL pulls to get the data to represent in a proper manner. Datarails is constantly improving and they continue to work with their customers to advance their software and address needs. The sky is the limit for cuts of data that Datarails can provide, and with nearly constant improvement over our now two years of use, our satisfaction with the software grows with each passing month.

Desvantagens:

It's strength with Excel is also it's weakness. Reports are only as good as the logic that is layered into Excel, so it necessitates numerous data checks to ensure that our numbers are accurate. Fortunately, Datarails makes those overall checks simple. I really want to love the Dashboards and Storybook functions, but the overall functionality of their graphing does need some improvement. Their dashboard have a really amazing variance analysis tool, but it needs updating and resources to be fully fleshed out and used as intended.

Comentários: The customer support and response is excellent

Vantagens:

Easy to navigate and set-up the dashboards

Desvantagens:

It doesn't work well with Quickbook Desktop. It requires a lot of manual processes. It does not automatically integrate with the QB desktop version. It's too cumbersome.

Financial Reporting has never been easier!

Comentários: Love it! I originally signed up because of the sales pitch of "financial statements at the click of a button" and it really is that easy! It has saved me DAYS of time, creating and analyzing reports. Since the base reporting is so quick for me now, I focus my time on adding more reporting and analysis to ensure Stakeholders have all the information they need and more!

Vantagens:

Ease of use. Once you get the hang of the formulas and the online interface, the options for creating meaningful reporting are unlimited. My financial reporting improves EVERY month as I figure out additional data that can be uploaded, mapped, and displayed for Stakeholders.

Desvantagens:

Constantly linking the excel sheets to the database. Really not a big deal, but if I had to pick something it would be that. I save my files in Datarails and ensure that I pull the file from Datarails before beginning any report to ensure that I have the most up to date one, and that it is already linked to Datarails.

Experience with DataRails

Comentários: The overall experience with DataRails has been positive, but the company seems more interested with automating as much as possible rather than in teaching and empowering customers to become super users of the software.

Vantagens:

Once set up, DataRails is an effective tool to manage our regular as well as ad hoc financial reporting. It has saved time in constructing standard reports, thus freeing up time for deeper analysis.

Desvantagens:

The process of setting up the environment can be tedious and confusing. Troubleshooting errors can be time consuming, particularly if your inputs are larger files (Any change to the Data Mapper needs to process to all files within a File Box) or if you have multiple inputs with different mappers (When input files are not uniform in structure, attempting to construct uniform mappers across inputs can be maddening). There is no readily available resource that can thoroughly or effectively explain the flow of data or how to construct a Data Mapper to specific needs.

Growing Together

Vantagens:

DataRails is amazing at increasing the speed of analysis. It has helped us gain a very quick overview of our business and all the branches.

Desvantagens:

As someone who needs to teach this to others, it is hard to teach to someone who does not have some background with technology. Even people with some background in excel have a tough time with all of the functionality offered.

Great tool for our organization

Comentários: Overall, my experience has been pretty good. My primary contact understands our end goal and has been able to assist in either creating the dashboards/widgets/reports needed or helping walk me through some of them. Sometimes, I feel like it is information overload, but in the end, it is what my team needs to understand where we stand financially.

Vantagens:

Visually appealing. There are so many opportunities to show your data to your organization in a way that most can understand. You don't have to be in finance to be able to appreciate it.

Desvantagens:

It is not intuitive. There is quite a bit of a learning curve when it comes to importing data and molding it correctly to give out the data you're looking for. The report building and formulas are pretty complex. I'm good at Excel but this takes the cake. I thought the process would be quicker to get our data into datarails.

Fantastic and Flexible Supporting Software

Comentários: Datarails has been great in getting us the help we need to get not only our financials more easily displayed, but get employees up to date with processes as well.

Vantagens:

Datarails makes financial analytics much smoother than before. You are able to knock out the data collection portion of financial tasks in nearly an instant, and if you are capable with the system even get it to the point it does a majority for you.

Desvantagens:

The user interface can be rough to pick up on when using the mapper and other tools. The help course videos are great and will get you up to speed but it can be a bear without them.

Datarails overview

Comentários: Datarails has greatly improved reporting for me as I create packages with a large quantity of sheets that are very easy to update by pulling down information from datarails and it does it much quicker than before Datarails.

Vantagens:

Datarails brings a lot of value to financial planning and analysis by making financial processes more accurate and efficient. With its ability to integrate data from different systems, Datarails provides a comprehensive view of financial information, making reporting and analysis more straightforward.

Desvantagens:

The initial setup and integration with existing systems might be complex, as all new things can come with a learning curve, adjusting to new functions usually proves difficult at first.

Review of the Web Dashboards

Vantagens:

I like how I can create infographics in Excel and then I can upload that to the web dashboard

Desvantagens:

Although it is nice to have web dashboards and be able to see that on the website, I would like a mobile feature so that my users can easily access the dashboards on their phone. Right now the formatting looks weird if you go online on your phone and check. It also is very laggy when loading in Excel dashboards on the web dashboard.

CEO-friendly FP&A tool

Comentários: The company's support and new feature rollout cadence is fantastic. They are very much innovating and doing all the right things. Very bullish on them!

Vantagens:

The dashboard and visualizations are the best part of Datarails. Our finance team can readily create the visualizations on our data that I can benefit the most from. Deltas and variances jump out at you, trendlines are clear, and the data reporting capabilities really are in a class by themselves.

Desvantagens:

Like any FP&A tool, it starts out slow. Your team has to learn how to leverage the tool and work with data that is originating outside of financial systems. It's taken us well over a year to get to the point where we're getting results and answers faster through Datarails than by manually creating a one-off report in Excel. The work has been worth it though, and it's just one of those inevitable aspects of leveling up your reporting and forecasting capabilities: it's not going to happen overnight or without a lot of training and validation work.

New User of Datarails

Vantagens:

Visually stunning. Easy to manipulate reports and tables to fit the needs of the business unit leaders and executives.

Desvantagens:

Some of the reporting and visualizations need to be built out further. The company has done a GREAT job at listening to our needs and putting in efforts to customize and add some of our request along the way.

Best financial tool out there, dependable and accurate

Comentários: DataRails has substantially improved the accuracy of our budgeting and forecasting. I love the ease of it, how accessible it makes our numbers, and how simple it is to follow real-time statuses. With DataRails we know our figures are accurate and up to date, which is precisely what we need from the numbers we base important decisions on.

Vantagens:

-There are many ways to manipulate and look at your data -Drill downs are amazing. Can look at the smallest of variables. -Can work on both Excel and their Insights feature depending on what I want -Easy to use -Easy to connect with our ERP system

Desvantagens:

Sometimes it was buggy when logging out. Other than that I can't think of any other notable cons, it really is a great system.

Great Product and Very quick implementation

Comentários: Great product, Helped us combined several source of data into one dashboard.
Very easy to use and present all the data in one place.
Save us time in closing the BVA and creating the Board presentation.

The price is a little bit high. I approved it before signing and enjoy the product but its still high :-)

Great reporting tool

Vantagens:

Enjoy the Excel integration functionality. Formulas are easy to use once you get the hang of them. The online platform is clear and easy to navigate.

Desvantagens:

It is not an all-in-one tool; it requires upgrades to get additional functionality.

Tons of Features

Vantagens:

The customer service has been oustanding from the beginning. The platform is completely customizable.

Desvantagens:

There is a lot to learn, because it's a rich environment. But there is plenty of support to help you figure it out.

Comentários: Wonderful, they have been there for us from the beginning, and are still there when we need assistance. [SENSITIVE CONTENT] has been amazing to work with.

Vantagens:

The customization. I can take a blank excel sheet and convert it into a report that I want to see, with the data that I need.

Desvantagens:

There are times that you have to have patience. The refresh can take a little bit of time, especially when there are a lot of tabs in a file. But, the support that we receive for the DataRails is astounding.

A lifesaver

Comentários: Having a dedicated Customer Success Manager has been wonderful.

Vantagens:

This product has allowed me to maintain my existing excel worksheets while speeding the closing process and allowing me to focus on variance analysis as opposed to simply on reporting

Desvantagens:

I would like to see waterfall charts as part of the graphic offered

Product is best in the business

Comentários: It’s an easy tool to use and train on. Very adaptable, can look at our data in many different and useful ways with the Insights feature. Integrates with our ERP flawlessly. Can make changes in real time so decision makers always know exactly what’s happening and base the organizational direction on fresh data. Model building is straightforward, visualizations are enlightening, integrations are easy.

Vantagens:

Using DataRails I can visualize data that I previously didn't have access to, this is by far the biggest pro-you can tap into data you've always had but previously couldn't work with. Other than that it's really easy to use, implementation is not lengthy, great customer service.

Desvantagens:

Occasionally freezes but I figure that happens with any sort of system

Comentários: Great customer support starting during the demonstration phase and going throughout implementation and use. I choose DataRails because it gave me enough flexibility to present whatever data I wanted in the format I wanted. The customer support also helped to make it easy to upload data and start creating my dashboard.

Vantagens:

Great customer support, they do a lot of the work so I can just feed data and get the information I need in the format I want.

Desvantagens:

Sometimes the software is cumbersome. Support always helps with any issues I have but I wish it was user friendly enough that I could do more without assistance. I am still learning and do more every month on my own.

The product is very easy to use. The implementation process was very good, first understanding the company needs, and then using the relevant tools of the product. Very good implementation and support team.

Desvantagens:

Some features were missing but already developed recently.

Solves problems for us!

Comentários: We use it a lot for data verification using the compare feature, do monitor data changes when we are changing our financial models. We use it to compare versions of our financial reporting decks and spreadsheets, and we use it for collaboration in collecting and prepareing (ETL) with data files for exporting from one system and into another.

Vantagens:

The way the features are now integrated with Excel, the more "active" way it organizes files tags and compares versions.

Desvantagens:

I originally had a little trouble with the interface from excel (widget popups) but they replaced this with simple right-clicks and tighter integration with Excel and windows explorer that has not only eliminated the problems, but made it easier to use.
