Shortpoint Saves the Day

Vantagens:

We have found Shortpoint incredibly easy to install and manage our employee intranet. Our brand is able to be consistent and professional, staff are able to easily find the content they need. Communication has become easier and felt less siloed. Shortpoint also has INCREDIBLE support. I know if I have an issue, they're going to be responsive and get to the bottom of it.

Desvantagens:

Some of the more recent updates have broken other components and so we've had to stay at a previous version for awhile while they try to solve the issue.

Amazing Product to help you create professional & amazing intranet sites.

Vantagens:

has multiple features to help you adjust your intranet site look & feel, control image sizes, texts insert icons, there is no need for any coding or prior web development experience. any user who has good knowledge in computer (works for IT) can pick it up. also their support is excellent and prompt when you raise a ticket & there is sufficient documentations on their website with screenshot guides to help you get started.

Desvantagens:

integration with microsoft out of the box features is minimal at the moment, if you want to mix & match webparts between the 2 products to use their best features the site feel will be strange. they mentioned they are working on integrating microsoft webparts inside their product, if that update is done it will be a game changer.

Shortpoint is good but still needs work

Comentários: Overall, I guess it's better than SharePoint alone. There are some things I really like about it but many things I have found are frustrating or don't do what I really want.

Vantagens:

I like that Shortpoint gives you a number of look and feel options for your pages. It's relatively easy to use but could be easier. I have to say that Shortpoint Support has been helpful to me for the most part although there are a couple of long time issues that have yet to be solved.

Desvantagens:

I hate that if Shortpoint is deactivated for any reason that you have to hit every page on the site to reactivate it. I hate that I have to remember to hit the save icon or take a chance of losing my work (it wasn't always like this), I hate that I have to reset the "link field" in tables if I put that table into edit mode after the link has already been selected (I have been waiting for a year for a fix for this). There has also not been an update in quite some time that I am aware of.

SharePoint layout and content magic by ShortPoint

Comentários: ShortPoint eases the setup and orchestration of Intrantes and complex intranet structures and pages. On support cases, the experience was very reactive, qualified and supportive.

Vantagens:

Easy to learn, easy to use, solves most annoying issues of SharePoint layout and design as well es flexible 3rd party content integration

Desvantagens:

no issues found, can´t say anyting we missed

Short Points for ShortPoint.

Comentários: I've had a great experience with ShortPoint. If I've ever run into any issues, the technical team is always there to assist and they are very good at troubleshooting issues and helping you to move forward as quickly and sufficiently as possible.

Vantagens:

The custom ability of templates and features are fantastic! I utilize this feature more than any other and that alone is worth the price!

Desvantagens:

Some of the connections to SharePoint sites can be difficult to setup. Once setup, some of the information being pulled can be painful if you're just guessing what information needs to be pulled from specific document libraries or lists.

Comentários: I had a great experience with ShortPoint! After using the product for a while, it was super easy to keep going and all new sites are easier and easier to make!

Vantagens:

What I love about ShortPoint is the number of templates available and the capability to copy and paste the designs. This made the process of creating the intranet A LOT faster and easier!!! 10 out of 10!!

Desvantagens:

Some of the design items I was looking for were not out of the box, however, the team was able to find a way to work around and still bring my vision to life!

In Love with Shortpoint

Vantagens:

We love the simplicity of being able to build a branded intranet with very little code, but with so much control over filtering.We also LOVE the customer service team. They have been uber responsive to each request we've had and are so delightful to talk to.

Desvantagens:

I'd say the only thing it's missing is an individual user's recent documents and we navigated that by using Sharepoint's component and applying custom css styling to it, but it would be nice if that was available.

Why you should use ShortPoint

Comentários: Although early in the process, we have found the product fairly easy to use after some initial knowledge base search and learn sessions.

Vantagens:

After an initial introduction to ShortPoint, you quickly find there are many more tools than meets the eye to not only design but also to make your SharePoint environment welcoming for your end users.

Desvantagens:

Although not a knock on ShortPoint, we definitely would like to see more designs within the Theme Builder. A second item has to do with Forms, instead of using Microsoft Forms we would definitely like to see more customization ability to integrate ShortPoint with the overall SharePoint experience by creating Forms and Approvals.

Great solution with terrific support

Comentários: Great experience from research and demo to use today!! We've been using it for three-ish years (and very satisfied with its abilities)!

Vantagens:

ShortPoint does a great job making an adaptable solution! They offer great support when you need it (incredibly responsive) and their collection of pre-built (useable) elements is awesome! It takes a lot of time out of the build process if you have the chance to leverage those elements!

Desvantagens:

The new modern builder is still relatively new (so there's a learning curve) and it's a bit delayed in responsiveness, but very manageable.

If you aren’t using shortpoint- you’re missing out.

Comentários: I love it. I brought it with me to 3 different companies and everyone is always in awe of the sites I can build with it.

Vantagens:

I love the ability to make our intranet pages look and function like a consumer grade website.

Desvantagens:

You have to really work in the software a lot to get the best bang for your buck. There are a ton of features you can implement but you have to take the time to learn how they work and also have a google foundation on how SharePoint and lists etc work to max out functionality.

Comentários: Overall experience is that this is a better product than others I have experienced, I can see developments in the pipe line and care about bring a better UI experience for its clients, I surmise that Shortpoint is invested in its product and what it clients want and I can see great things ahead.

Vantagens:

It is by far the best, if not the only product that can really define a better looking sharpoint intranet than the default Microsoft stock offering, and really potentially add better content to your pages.

Desvantagens:

There needs to be more work around live and grid mode, we need to be able to connect to Sharepoint out side of grid mode. copying and pasting is not working for both web parts and copying parts in grid mode.There is also some saving glitches, when switching back to published, the page sometimes doesn't load all the web parts it should.

User Friendly with Appealing Elements

Comentários: We use ShortPoint mainly for our internal use at this time. It has allowed us to define our brand standards across each division (company) to ensure we have a standardized layout for each of our projects and communities.

Vantagens:

More custom options than out of box options from SharePoint online.

Desvantagens:

I really do not like the new layout of elements and toggling between grid and stacked view. The windows are smaller and overall I am not liking the new required design peice.

Expensive for what you get

Comentários: The account manager is fantastic and very helpful when we need to get things done relating to our subscription.

Vantagens:

Better than vanilla Sharepoint. Ability to use the web page real estate in a more efficient fashion.The ability to add custom javascript is very nice and one of the primary reasons why this software was chosen.

Desvantagens:

Way too expensive for what you get (and yearly increased cost.. ). Shouldn't be a subscription model with the high cost, or at least a purchase once and then a vastly reduced price in subscription model.Customer support response for technical questions still takes way too long (time zone difference), especially with the subscription model that you are roped into purchasing.. it shouldn't take a day or two to respond back.

Lack of integration webparts with other external applications.

it has enabled the department to develop user- interface with so much ease in small time and is plug and play

Comentários: Overall very happy in purchasing this product. Solves many of our custom requirements for the SharePoint site which are not available.

Vantagens:

Many amazing features available, which truly helps in creating a site quickly.

Webpart/Image sizing on different devices is not the same.

The licensing structure from an administrator position. Where you need to purchase another license to have the ability to assist the actual users with any changes, development or issues.

Comentários: Would recommend this tool to anyone who wants a easy way to create good looking SharePoint sites.

Vantagens:

Makes UI/UX on SharePoint fairly easy if you do not have on-staff SharePoint resources.

Desvantagens:

Inability to change admins easily, this can be a burden if you have staff turnover.

It takes time to design as per expected so need to update this.

I wish the entire selection of functions and widgets work with the live preview feature
