Comentários: Simple to use, not robust, but lower-cost perfect solution for cloud customers.

Vantagens:

Proxmox is like HyperV the virtualization tool to provide VPS technology to the customers. It provides simple API which can be user for automatization of the processes in your cloud bussines. We use Proxmox as lower cost option for customers.

Desvantagens:

Missing some advanced tools and integrations. It provides a slightly worse performance than cloud virtualization tools like WmWare but can be used as lower-cost VPS virtualization utility.

Hands-down best Hypervisor

Comentários: Very positive, I'm glad we switched to using Proxmox over ESXI.

Vantagens:

I LOVE this product, it just works. Virtualization, built in containers, networking that supports most adapters, it is a simple and straightforward. Clustering and HA is awesome, even for smaller node deployments.

Desvantagens:

The learning curve is steep when coming from another platform such as VMWare ESXI, but once you get the hang of it is easy.

Good for solo use

Comentários: it was a bumpy road to use proxmox, but if you just want to use it for personal use and want to spend some time on it it can run smooth.

Vantagens:

i love it that you can customise the vm to your needs , easy to add networks and even to create a full local network ( dhcp , private lans , firewall with port forward to local ip's ... ) it was easy to do it once you know how and after you setup the networks correcty so for a big network with a single public ip is this a nice software

Desvantagens:

the complicated setup part, fill in a wrong ip on the network adapter and you can not access it anymore the setup in my case needed a USB drive ... just to get some functions working and it was a nightmare to install it on a usb drive ( grub bootloader ) so it can access the disks with out the build in raid controller ( HBA mode ) also the speed is extreem slow if you boot from usb, so you got stuck with slow vm's even if you use Ceph for disk recovery/speed

Best tool for virtualization on premise

Comentários: With Proxmox we create a Virtualized environment for our clients. Backups stops bein a pain.

Vantagens:

Easy to install, few clicks and is working

Desvantagens:

It's not so easy create a cluster of servers

Best Virtualization Environment I ever used!

Comentários: Overall Expiernce was great and super easy to use you can do many many things and test your sites and create virtual network and also the thing i loved most is , it's a super light weight VE

Everything is really great about Proxmox, I am using this VE from 2+ years and I am really happy to choose this VE for my servers , I created my Home Lab in this VE. The Best thing about is it's Open Source with a lot's of feature

Desvantagens:

Overall Proxmox is really great! and super easy to use its have Turnkey templates and many more things and easy to setup. I have suggestion for this VE. If something like this is implemented, such as when Proxmox is installed in a container, the display that appears on it shows only the terminal. However, if something like this is done, where that display is removed and the displays of virtual machines are used instead, then I think this would be the best thing ever to exist. I mean, I know I can control it from the web, but if the display of the virtual machine is shown on the default monitor, then this would be a unique feature in itself.

Reliable virtualization platform

Vantagens:

Very reliable and has a ton of features builtin, upgrades are seamless and HA is easy to setup

Desvantagens:

No Docker support out of the box, but that limitation can be workaround by having a VM dedicated to running containers.

Best in class virtualisation software

Vantagens:

VE community edition is super easy to get started with, mostly full featured and provided a great entry to learning the software

Desvantagens:

UI is dated but for the most part this provides next to no impact to functionality

No. 1 Free (Opensource) Hypervisor

Comentários: I have used Proxmox and made an upgrade from Proxmox VE 7.0-13 from VE 6 and it was quit straight forward. I also use snapshot and love PCIE passthrough.

Vantagens:

Ease of use and deployment with amazing user interface that makes monitoring .

Desvantagens:

Support for ARM servers architecture as more and more server are switching to ARM.

2 in 1: VM and LXC Container open-source virtualization

Vantagens:

I really like all the features that are built in or out of the box like nic bridging or teaming, linux container support, firewall, backups per vm and easy integration with NFS for SANs. Full terraform and ansible support to deploy as code. Great for dev workloads and startups but it can scale to larger setups.

Desvantagens:

Difficult to update without a license or in the free version.

Scalable, robust and complete Hypervisor Suite

Comentários: Proxmox allowed me to be sure by performing scheduled backups with its own solution. Create HA without much hassle. All in the same solution. Provide a well-documented guide.

Vantagens:

Proxmox allowed me to deploy all my services in a fast, agile and secure way, configure HA and secure everything with backups.

Desvantagens:

Migrating from other solutions can be very tedious. There is no easy way to do it. Data loss may occur if not done with caution.

Easy to install and handle

Comentários: So far I am very satisfied. I was able to migrate my current IT infrastructure in two days.

Vantagens:

Easy to configure and support. Intuitive approach.

Desvantagens:

UI could be improved. Physical server migration to VE could be developed.

Opensource, free and a very great alternative.

Vantagens:

Honestly, I like everything. Easy of use, a lot of users on forums if you need help.. A very great alternative to the giant.

Desvantagens:

Sometimes, things goes wrong. You need to have some basic linux understanding to figure things out. But as I said, there is a lot of help on forum, etc..

Vantagens:

Excellent for customizable virtual machines management with a highly functional web interface and a valuable addition to network optimization.

Desvantagens:

Complicated setup processes, lacks easy options for data management and limited support for non-standard server architectures.

Proxmox VE Complete Solution for Data Center

Comentários: previously we use the Microsoft hyper-v to set up one VM and then set up the application inside and it's very difficult we need to spend a lot of time setup, and since we use proxmox VE then we can deploy one container in a few seconds only.
I recommend for fast development and deployment software please use proxmox VE

Vantagens:

Proxmox runs very smoothly, with a lot of community support, the main important thing is it can build the cluster server infrastructure, and support snapshot backup inside, also the fastest provision VM is the container is powerful for development and the general user. The simple dashboard is easy to use and configure, it works on any kind of server/brand

Desvantagens:

some features still use the command line so must be familiar with command-line Linux too especially Debian because proxmox uses Debian.

Great virtualization for every budget

Comentários: Great! I would advise everyone that is on paid and legacy virtualization software to take a look at proxmox and see if it is something that they can use.

Vantagens:

We like the pricing and possibilities of proxmox. In comparison to the competition it’s a no brainer as it does everything that the competition does but on a lower price point.

Desvantagens:

We had a lot of trouble debugging ceph as it was not functioning properly and crashing nodes.

The go-to hypervisor for any scale

Vantagens:

It's easy and convinient to create, manage and monitor VMs and containers. Almost everything can be handled with the web interface and with automatic backups - I never have to worry about losing data.

Desvantagens:

Whenever I'm setting up a container or VM for a small service, such as dynamic DNS or VPN, it feels like I'm doing the same system setup tasks over and over again. This can partially be solved by creating your own templates, however, it would be nice to have such basic templates provided by Proxmox or the community, with single click-deploys in the web interface.
